Pet prices will go down?

I've been hearing a lot of people on my server saying that pet prices are going to go down. as well as rare mounts.

Am i the only one who thinks the price will raise? due to the fact that people only have to buy one, then everyone of there characters have the pet. therefore people will pay more due to the fact that they know everyone of there chars will get the pet?
As not many people buy rare pets due to the extremely high price.
Just my 2cents.

If the prices do go down then it will be after a long while in my opinion.
When the pet battle system is fully operational in MoP expansion, people will want to have more variety of pets. And if they didn't get them in the past or didn't care enough to collect them, then maybe they will want to collect them when the pets are able to fight.

In my opinion prices will not drop and will raise as you said yourself. On my server prices have in fact gone up quite substantially and again for the reason you have mentioned.
Since pets / mounts are account wide people might think that higher prices are in order since you don't have to buy the pets/mounts for each character.

A more concrete direct example:
A person sells 10 of the same pet on AH or directly. Since I'm a huge pet fan I would want to have the same pet on all of my characters. But now I only have to buy one, so the person in question who sells them is missing some substantial potential profit from just one person, namely me, because I would want to buy all 10 if I have 10 characters. Maybe this is an exaggerated example, but still....

Anyway, thats my 2 cents and it makes sense that at least for a certain amount of time the mounts/pets are going up in sell price.

EDIT:

It might also depend on if AH gets saturated with more and more pets and people are trying to undercut eachother more and more. Same goes for mounts. But it might take a while before price drops actually happens.
Supply and demand is the name of the game in this case.
I'm not very educated in economy and maybe someone might actually have better wording or explanation about this subject.

Pricing will also depend on the quantity available and the relative rarity of the pet.

For example the Sprite Darter Hatchling used to be a quest reward available to Alliance characters prior to Cataclysm. Anyone who started playing after that has had to mob grind in Feralas for this pet which has an insanely low drop rate. Few will be available on the AH unless someone gets stupidly lucky while grinding and gets multiples and cages one, or unless a veteran player who had the quest reward on multiple toons decides to put one in a cage and sell it.

This pet will be extremely rare and by extension there will be very few on the AH, therefore the price will be very very high.

Now, a vendor pet of either faction or a pet with a decent drop rate like the Leaping Hatchling will be plentiful, there will be many on the AH, and the price will be low as the sellers undercut each other to the ground.
