I'd say they'll probably be a High Armor pet. And yeah, I'd get one too no matter how sucky it turns out. Short and stubby Dwarf beside a Penguin is awesome IMO. Not to mention we'd both have the Ice-theme to it.
Make them be able to do some Ice-based AOE or something. Or a passive skill that allows them to go even faster if hey step on Ice Traps that are supposed to actually Slow them.

OMG, I LOVE PENGUINS :D. If they are not tamable the hunter forums will see more QQ then ever thought possible. Even more so than the frost mages could produce when the deadzone was removed.

You know that Penguins are... animals right? Not frost-mages ?
Giving penguins magic attacks would be redonkulous.
