so the grass is always greener on the other side?
blizz isn't running a commune where all the shinies get given out equally. they're making a game and fixing the things that need it most.
New models aren't a "needing", we can live without it. Or we wouldn't have any Boomkin druids out there... But, since they gave it to one class, they should give to others. It's called aesthetic balance.

So, isn't fair that they give new skins for Meta, too?
no.
I don't even see how you can reap anything even concerning "fairness" (a word whose simple usage throws up red flags) from the ToL change.

Of course I can. The new ToL mechanic is fair with all the other 29 specs that passed all the expansion uselessly trying to find a way to cut down that damn tree. And I don't say it's a nerf, because "nerf" is a very strong word, used only to describe things like Searing Pain damage on
build 13195
.
Edit: Also, in the same link, you can see another act of fairness from Blizzard: they realized that we had the only ridiculous T11, and made the hunter's one on the same level.

If thats how you choose to see "fairness", so be it... Just keep in mind that the plural of anecdote is NOT data.

plural of anecdote is NOT data.
this statement instantly wins any argument. i first came across it in the sig of a very smart poster here called dunsinane.
i wonder if we can get malgayne et al add --- tags so i know when to stop reading ^_^

And the plural of datum isn't proof ;)

...anywho, back on topic.
Affliction:
Drain Soul now causes double damage if the target is below 25% health, down from 4 times the normal damage.
Destruction
Searing Pain base damage has been reduced by 60%. Mana cost reduced from 18% of base mana to 12% of base mana.
Interesting changes. Searing pain is definitely just documenting the hotfix, and Drain Soul's adjustment is probably to compensate for mastery (and the overall de-emphasis on execute that seems to be going across the board).

yup.
DS's DPET is still higher than SB and has the added benefit of refreshing corruption and UA so people shouldn't worry that it's going to effect mechanics. i agree with fin that this is following the trend of de-emphasizing executes. i does seem to be putting affliction slightly to the bottom of the pack (nothing to worry about but worth noting).
it feels weird to me that corruption is now doing basically the exact same damage as UA and that is all from a loss of corruption damage rather than much gain to UA. not that this is necessarily a bad thing in itself but i wonder if there's some wiggle room in corruption's numbers to pull aff up a wee bit...

Also DS refresh the 3 shards when the target dies, giving us less downtime between fights in PvP and non-boss PvE. And, since we're probably going to use it mostly as a mid-final move (and, in PvP, only as a finishing move), the target will die.

Your point is... pointless. The fact that DS refreshes shards is a commodity on most fights, not a reason to use it during execute. On add fights (LDW, Lich King, Dreamwalker) even Demo would use DS on the last second or two of an add's life so we can regen a few shards. That doesn't add any weight at all for demo using it as an execute.
Also, the word downtime does not apply to warlocks. It hardly did pre-4.0.1, and it absolutely does not now.

Affliction
Seed of Corruption now deals 567 to 660 to all enemies within 15 yards, down from 1186 to 1379.
Demonology
Summon Infernal now deals 438 to 494 fire damage when it lands, up from 29.
Destruction
Incinerate now deals 579 to 673 Fire Damage and an additional 96 to 112 Fire damage if the target is affected by Immolate. Changed from 540 to 627 with an additional 135 to 156.
Rain of Fire now deals 2455 Fire damage over 8 sec, up from 1890.
solves the problem of seed being better for destro than RoF still i suppose.

The incinerate change is a bit lol. It's like the Cata changes to feral kitty druids, being more forgiving when making a mistake (increased the damage for when there's no immolate on the target, but decreased the additional damage when immolate IS on the target).
Still waiting for hellfire to no longer damage me :(

any change to base damage is basically "meh". a change this fine even more so.

Mad seed nerf. I love summon infernal, but to actually hit someone with it takes really good timing. Then again maybe not with the new fear glyph.

Speaking about soul shards;
During raiding I usually burn off a Soul Burn here and there, leaving me with 2/3 shards. Some times when I look back, I have 3/3. I can't remember soul draining anything, and certainly not casting that health evocation. Is there anything I'm overlooking?
Post by
Rekijan
Soulburning Seeds gives you the shard back if it explodes.
That could be it?

sad that nothing interesting came out of the class Q&A for warlocks.
though we're in a pretty good place compared to most other classes so perhaps that's why.

Nothing interesting, but something disheartening definitely did.
Q: Right now Demon Soul seems like a trinket, and doesn't feel fun, why did you think warlocks needed an ability like that?
A: The design intent for pretty much all the classes, we didn't want to give anyone another "Frostbolt" ability. We wanted to give players stuff that they used in specific situations because of how many keybinds people have already.
What the HELL is he going on about? Specific situations? We are just gonna friggin macro it into every single one of our spells because it is A) Off the GCD and B) a boring *!@#ing ability!
Hunter: Camo
DK: Spell Reflect
Priest: Life Grip
Warrior: Heroic Leap
Pally: Summon Angel
Rogue: Smoke Bomb
Druid: Mushroom Bomb
Mage: Bloodlust
Shaman: Cast-while-moving
Warlock: Off the GCD trinket for DPS increase.
REALLY? I understand the problem with having too many buttons, but this ability is really a let down. REALLY. It doesn't even look that cool in game.
