why would you be casting incinerate without an MC proc? ^_^
there are many, many examples throughout the game of this happening. blizzs tend to fic them if they get particularly annoying. given EI's all new super low proc chance i can't see it being a big priority for blizz.
Well I started to write about how if you're casting incinerate with an MC proc and it procs again you'll lose the benefit of one of the stacks, but it was so confusing ^_^ so much easier to explain it that way even though you'd never do it.

in that case MC doesn't really count.
if you have two stacks and are casting incinerate and it procs again then it stands to reason that you'll be losing the unused original procs and the next complete cast will take a count off the 3.

I just think it's silly how such buffs work. If I start a cast of Incinerate at .1 seconds remaining on MC I get full benefit from it even though it drops off. However, if it reprocs and I was already casting it wastes one of my new stacks ^_^ Clearly I don't need the new stacks to use the skill so why should it waste one...
If I cast a soulfire with decimation, but it falls off before I finish, I'll get the cast speed reduction but it'll use a shard ^_^
From a programmer standpoint I suppose it makes sense, but game play wise it seems silly to me.

So,
no longer requires the target to be above 80%. Does this mean that it is viable for all three specs? A constant 15% spell haste seems pretty tempting.

i'm stunned.
just the fact that they would want destro to have 15% increased haste seems incredibly suspect to me. if it stayed then it almost certainly means all specs drop everything to get it.
btw, the changes we're talking about are:
Affliction
Fear now has a 1.7 sec cast time, down from 2 sec.
Drain Life now restores 2% health every 1 sec, up from 0.5 sec. Lasts 1.5 sec, down from 3 sec. Now costs 12% of base mana, down from 17% of base mana.
Destruction
Searing Pain now costs 18% of base mana, up from 12% of base mana.
Shadowburn now has a 40 yards range, up from 35 yards.
Improved Soul Fire no longer requires your target to be above 80% health.
Improved Searing Pain now affects at or below
all in all, these changes look a little wonky.
the DL bit makes no sense at all. do we think it's a type and the "1.5" should read "0.5"? it sounds like they're making the soulburn effect baseline for the spell and giving it a 1.5second channel.
wonky i tells ye!

Yeah, the DL it really confusing to me. If it restores 2% per sec, why not just recast it as the tick occurs instead of wasting a half a second finishing the cast? Especially for PvP. I really hope they don't end up making our class as a whole just one huge polished turd.

If Channeling spells count as damage over time effects, does that not mean you can spam your heart out when casting Life Drain, and still get the ticks with the appropriate time interval? Did anyone try this?

the entry in Wowhead even says 1 sec channel, ticking every 0.5. Still wonky, but it would make more sense than ticking every 1 sec and only being a 1.5 channel o_O
Improved SF ... well, it still lasts 15 secs with a 30 sec cd, so it's up 50% of the fight ... but affli "having" to use it feels wonky indeed.
(doubting between improved immo and emberstorm. It'll probably be emberstorm since it affects Incin as well, should MC care to proc ...)

@raz, from my personal testing which was far from extensive a channel does not behave like a DoT when it comes to the refresh mechanic.
channels are still a real PitA. however, if this change brings DL down to 1.5 seconds then it DOES become spammable because it's on the GCD at that point.
edit: i wonder if the database sites are getting confused by DL's soulburn effect and that's why they're mentioning 1.5second channel times...

About Bane of Agony/Doom, does they count like curses to be dispelled? Or they can't be dispelled? (I won't count on that, way too op).

I think after adding in new sections the reforging section got bumped down a post.

When I first saw the
new Tree of Life forms
, I tought that they'll make new Moonkin forms as well. But thinking more now, the new mechanic for ToL is more like our Metamorphosis than their fat chicken.
So, isn't fair that they give new skins for Meta, too? I don't mean new models, the actual one is awesome, just give us an option for that odd purple thing. Green, red or even white would be times cooler.
If anyone got some info about this, please, share :D

so the grass is always greener on the other side?
blizz isn't running a commune where all the shinies get given out equally. they're making a game and fixing the things that need it most.
