You may have run the first portion of the quest and forgotten. You need to talk to the warlocks in Ratchet (same place you got your felsteed).

The orb isn't it. That's another quest entirely. And I'm assuming Strahad doesn't have a quest to accept from you.
Quest names are Seeking Strahad and Tome of the Cabal. After you visited Strahad for the first time, he would have sent you to talk with someone else (in UC or IF, depending on which side). You may be at the stage that requires you to speak to one of those people.
Next suggestion would be to seek out:
Krom Stoutarm (ally - IF - Hall of Explorers library) or
Jorah Annison (horde - UC - Magic Quarter)
and see if they have anything for you.
