New PvE Pet...Garfield's gone soft...

So I've noticed that my cat (which I've had since level 10) is going soft. He simply can't soak up the damage that he used to be able to...in Outland, that is. I just finished running some guildies through SM (arm and cath), and he could hold aggro on 5 mobs at once, easily, and finish the fight at ~50% health, with me having never healed him.

This was with NO Natural Armor or Great Stamina. I trained Shadow and Frost Resistances to 140, 50% Avoidance, Dash 3 and Prowl 3 (and Growl, until I get my ravager). Gee whiz, I wonder if he's gonna be my pvp pet lol...

I plan to pick up a Thornfang Ravager and use him as my PvE pet. I'll train him Growl, +40 stamina, +1k armor, Gore and Dash (once I get the necessary training points).

I just figured that the armor bonus of a ravager will be better for tanking physical damage mobs.

Any thoughts on other pets I should consider? Or am I completely off my rocker?

Yeah, a bear would probably be better at tanking than a ravager, but ravagers destroy bears in the dps department, and I personally think ravagers are just plain cool.

As far as training Garfield Greater Stamina, I used to have him with the +40 stamina, and it just didn't make that big of a difference. At this point, I've gotten used to taking it easy on the number of mobs I fight at once...at least until I get my ravager and get him all trained up =)

I usually keep my third slot open in case I want to try a fun pet...maybe I'll try a bear there ^-^
