if u raid or do instances you need some addons but if u only pvp you need others :)

If Disc or Shadow then i recommend getting jims cooldown pulse. its very nice at keeping you updated when spells come of CD

First off, I cannot stand the clunky Blizzard unitframes, so I go with something a lot cleaner like ag_unitframes. I then like to make my player/target/focus/party unitframes nice and big so they're easier to click on.
Grid and Clique are both essential to me. I tried Healbot a long time ago but didn't like it.
I don't find myself looking at Omen too often, and as a healer I shouldn't have to. Recount is nice but to be honest "Healing Done" isn't a terribly important stat to me, as long as people aren't dying I know I am doing my job.
Every priest should have a mod which shows dispellable debuffs, such as Grid or Decursive. My guild also stresses that Mages should have those mods too, for decursing.

There are no must have addons.
I've been healing since MC days using Blizz's raid frames with no problem at all. Only thing I use is Recount, and that's mostly to see where other people screw up.

To me, it seems it takes all the judgment and know-how out of healing, which ruins the entire experience of it.
really? id rather no when my PoM is up so i an cast another one and be efficient. id rather have something that pops up to tell me something is off CD. it makes me better. it makes me faster in my reaction time. it makes to observe the fight much more.

I try not to depend on any addons. Personal preference. I've read up on what a lot of the popular addons like Grid, Clique and Healbot, looked at screenshots and found myself...disenchanted. The information these things provide or actions they automate for me are most of what represent my awareness, choices, skill and discretion as a healer. Or, such is my opinion.
I'm not gonna' look down on anyone who uses 'em, but for me, that's all the fun of healing. There are fights that, when I've managed to get some of the party through enough to call it a success, I just laugh hysterically at how I managed to get through it with raw awareness, intuition and good choices made. I get the impression that these addons would dull the experience unless I stripped them down, at which point one wonders what the point is.
The only thing I do miss is when I'm missing out on information that's pretty hard to know on my own. It's hard to know what every healer in the party is doing. But then, arguably, half the fun of working with another healer is getting to know their heal style and being able to work with them seamlessly. Usually a quick glance at their mana bar is all I need to know after healing a bit with them.
I suppose if I need an addon for anything it's to know when PoM is done bouncing around. That's...about all I want. Hmn.
My point isn't that it's wrong to use healing addons, just to tell people - you don't have to. There are healers all around you that know about them, *could* use them, but opt not to.

Clique will change the way you heal. I resisted installing it for the longest time but once I tried it, I can never go back.
