When I leveled my lock about 3 years ago, I did it as affliction and it was great fun. What I did was that I casted all my dots on every enemy, and got healed while slowly killing stuff. My felhunter finished off what the dots did not do. It was an effective and fun way of leveling.
I dont seem to be able to do the same thing in mop (my lock is lvl 55, fully heirloomed). My dots simply dont do enough dps to being even close to finnish of the mobs. Will this change later?

i dnt play a warlock but i myself play a SV hunter and i use multi dotting a lot through multishot serpent spread on mobs and its a very efficient way too lower all of their hp at the same time.
i can only image that true dot specs as affli or spriest have an easier time then me

Definitely more of a warlock forum topic, but yes, it is still possible, though the methods are a bit different. I use Demonology for this now. I'm not sure how it is at lower levels, but 85-90 was cake. I'd pick up a quest, round up all 10 mobs for it and kill them quite quickly and finish with full health and mana, ready for the next group.

I feel ya bro... My DOTs do piddly damage too... Unless I got a spare GCD, I just use the Moonfire/Sunfire for the Eclipse I'm in while questing.

Multi-dotting is definitely possible, though I usually chain it on a bunch of mobs then use an aoe (preferably Harvest of Life) to inflict even more constant damage to ensure I score many kills (i.e. tab Corruption spam into Harvest of Life to maximize Demonic Fury generation).
Alternatively you could just use the dots as a pull tool and just relentlessly aoe mobs down or something.
