Mining: Ore or Bars

I have 10 stacks of different ores and I was thinking what is more worth doing; selling them as ores or Bars on the AH?

You really just have to check the AH. It can vary quite a bit from day to day, but my limited experience is that the ore is a more reliable seller because Engineers and Blacksmiths both need it as a raw material. If you make it into bars, you're only selling to Blacksmiths.

What?
Ore tends to sell better because Jewelers can prospect it, and usually, any one who needs bars can smelt them themselves. Engineers and Blacksmiths both use bars as their primary raw ingredient.

All the above arguments are very valid, but people forget that the BIGGEST market for bars are players who are buying the mats to get something crafted. Whether it's a transmute or an epic.

How true. You can make very good amount of gold by buying the ore and smelting it and reselling it in the AH.
Most people don't realize that sure there are 2 professions that use the bars. And the Alc and JC use the ore. But also need to realize that alot of people don't have gathering professions for there toons. And there willing to pay they AH price for the mats.
@Op follow the advice given and check the AH and see what prices everything is going for. Check Both Bars and Ore prices. If the Bars are selling for a good profit of 10g or more compared to what the 1 or 2 stacks of ore are selling for they its worth it to smelt them down. If its only a gold or two then it can be questionable.
