If you're doing pvp in lower lvls, it does not count. It is unbalanced. Blizz is focusing on balancing lvl 85 first. And as a DK, you're made to take out casters.
Not only that, but a dk starts out (after doing all the pre-quests that is) with a full blue quality set.

Blue text, epic quality. Seriously, that outmatches a lot of tier gear.

probably because they wanted it to be competitive with outland gear, not lvl 60 epics.
