Liquoid, can't say I would know you very well, but I would certainly not expect you to be dropping these kinds of posts.

I want to remind everyone to:
USE \ TAGS
and be really overly careful - if in doubt, use them.

I think its safe to say that we should do the same thing we did with the Skyrim Thread.
For the first month we use spoiler tags for important plot details, and after that we can dispense with them (Since after a month just about everyone will have completed the game anyways)
This goes double true for anything regarding the ending.

Is it sad that, even though I got the game, I haven't played it yet? I let BF install it first, and started playing Skyrim. Then when he was like "your turn to install," I was like "but i found a cave" and, well, still haven't installed it.

This probably sounds dumb but I can't make my Shepard look right, so I'm stuck in an endless loop of remaking her. She looks so weird in cutscenes!

This is a bug that has been reported for the game, We're gonna have to wait for a patch to fix it up.
There are alternatives. I'll elaborate.
If you created a toon in ME2, and imported to ME3, then there's no problem and you'll be able to play just fine.
If you created a toon in ME1, imported to ME2, but chose to make a new face for him/her on 2, then when you import to 3, all is good.
The problem is when you create a toon in ME1, import to ME2, and choose to NOT change the face. Then you import that to ME3 and that's where the problem starts.
Due to several problems with the geometry and coding used on the first game being incompatible with the new engine, if you're using an unchanged face from ME1, you will have to redo the face of your toon from scratch.
So your options are to:
A: Import, but then choose the customize face and re-create the face from scratch. Obviously some people will have it easier than others, depending on how much you changed the default presets into something you liked.
Option B: Is outlined here:
http://social.bioware.com/forums/forum/1/topic/323/index/9247811/3#9249327
and with this tool
http://masseffecttools.99k.org/index.php
Bioware has already acknowledged this problem
http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/323/index/9661093
and are working on a solution ASAP. So, Option C for those that don't wan't or can't re-create the face, and don't want to go through the hassle of the more thecnical solution, the third option is to wait till the patch is released.
Personally, this doesn't affects me at all, since I was able to fully recreate the face of my toon on the demo without a problem, so I'm confident I can do so again on the full game once I have it.
Others have also shown its possible.

Edit: Also obviously this problem wont show up at all for those who used the default faces.
Out of curiosity ashe, what version of the game are you playing? Xbox? PC? or PS3?

That's the "skyrim will eat your soul" syndrome :P you chose a really bad timing to start playing that game. ITS INCREDIBLY ADICTIVE, and also quite a time-sink (seriously, the first time I started playing it I was like "I'll try it out for a couple of hours before going to bed", next time I saw the clock, the sun was up already)

Rankkorr, it is pretty clear from what Ashelia posted that she is actually using the ME3 face creator to make a face for her Shepard.

Well, its been confirmed by a couple of friends of mine who got the game:
Vanguards are the ultimate class in the universe. (Bear in mind that this is done in the second hardest difficulty setting)
The combination of a fully-maxed Biotic Charge with 100% barrier regeneration with a fully maxed Nova with the half-drain for sixty percent damage option plus a single, light weapon for ranged work (like the Mattock) and you can perform an infinite combo of Biotic Charge followed by Nova, all without having to worry about the piddling damage your now-panicked foes are going to your barriers in the meantime.
For maximum game-breaking potential, you can make Biotic Charge AoE with one upgrade, and make Nova do double damage to Armor, Shields, and Barriers with another. Add to this the Biotic Megaton Punch to finish off stragglers and it basically lets you be Jack during her Mass Effect 2 introduction, except all the time and in gameplay.
/sharp-inhale........
awesome.

My poor BF- even though I was playing Skyrim last night, every time he laughed while he was playing ME3, I would be like "What just happened? What did she say? Did XYZ just happen?"
I have to actually install it and play it today, and not harass the poor guy-lol.

I honest-to-god wish you luck :P Skyrim is ONE HELL OF AN ADICTIVE GAME.
Getting out of that honey-trap is only possible by completing as much stuff as possible (I actually saw the light of day again when I completed the main campaign, Dark Brotherhood campaign, and Civil War campaign in that order)
(BTW: Love the way you handled that guy hat XD you got style mah bruddah)

Lol- I <3 Hatman.
@ Rank- I haven't gotten too far (probably because I'm a "Pick ALL the flowers" person). Working on the Companions questlines. Haven't even gotten very far in the main story. If I waited, I'd never play ME3. And I really do want to get back into it and see all my favorite characters again.
EDIT: This thread has been awesome for my Wowhead rep.

ohh dear xD that's a habit you gotta get rid of when playing an Elder Scrolls game. Theres SO MUCH to pick up that if you try to collect EVERYTHING, is pretty much like trying to pick up everything you see as you take a stroll on the street in real life. Bethesda is like that, they love to put a friking country in a box.
Penny Arcade
lampshaded it.
However their
second one
was significantly better :P
EDIT: This thread has been awesome for my Wowhead rep.
I know right? =D I've even gained a gold achievement here (Yes I know, wowhead achievemnts do nothing, BUT I MUST HAVE THEM DAMMIT! >.<)
Who knew trolls could be put to good use? what will we see next?
Lol- I <3 Hatman.
Agreed, that was a very classy way to handle a troll who didn't get the message that he's no longer welcomed here.

=/ this is a little unfair........
Regarding the Romance options for ME3, Male shep got CONSIDERABLY more options than fem!shep.
For a starter Kaidan can be romanced by male shep on ME3, but (For the moment) Ashley can't be romanced by fem!shep (at least it hasn't been reported yet maybe nobody has updated the wiki about it?)
And then there's the returning old love interests from ME2.
Whereas a male shepard can continue his relationship with either tali/miranda/jack without a hitch (VERY surprised at the amazing character development that Jack undergoes, I didn't even liked her on the previous game) a female shepard doesn't has that luxury.
Since out of garrus/thane/jacob: A: Thane is (as revealed in ME2) dying, meaning he has little time left, so, yeah, that road isn't leading anywhere happy. The relationship with Jacob CANNOT be continued on ME3, which means on top of being the most flat-boring character in all of ME2, he's also a shallow 1night-stand as well.
So while the total romance count for male shepard is:
Ashley
Kaidan
Liara
Miranda
Jack
Tali
Cortez
Diana (8 total)
the total romance count for Fem!shep is
Kaidan
Liara
Garrus
Samantha
Diana (5)
=/ what is it with bioware always giving the male characters more romance options? this same thing happened in Jade Empire (Male toons had Dawn-star/Silk-fox/sky, whereas female toons had only Silk-fox and sky) It can also be seen in some characters on SWTOR. Since the male sith warrior has 2 romance options while the female one has just 1. This can be observed in several other classes.
(Also, for those interested, Diana isn't a "real" romance option, she's also quite a shallow BORING 1night flick. I wonder why even bother to introduce her at all =/ She's sorta like one of those MANY shallow 1night-stands that the Warden can have in Dragon Age that aren't real romances at all)
Now here is a little spoiler regarding tali READ AT YOUR OWN RISK
We still don't get to see her face =(
After reclaiming their homeworld, she takes off her mask, but we STILL DONT SEE HER GOD-DAMN FACE!.
To add insult to injury, she then sends a photo to shepard's cabin, you can examine this photo to get a blurry and fuzzy image that somewhat resembles a face, but nothing really clear,
This
is the closest we will EVER be to seeing her face. In a damn photo. Couldn't they just show us the face in... ya know..... THE ACTUAL GAME? jeez >.>

Ok- just started. Initial impressions:
- So glad the Hammerhead didn't make it.
- I like the new planet-scanning mini-game. Much less annoying.
- Combat is pretty much the same.
- Character creator didn't let me remake my shep's face, but it did actually have attractive facial features and a nose selection that didn't look like she was recovering from a football injury, so if anything I'm sad this engine wasn't in the first two games. I did remake her a couple of times but I'm happy with the result.
- I think they jacked up my ship and made it less attractive. That's the alliance for you.
- Vega is much more entertaining that I though he would be. the DLC character is much less entertaining than I thought he would be.
I didn't like that for Vega and Kaiden that my conversation options were often Flirt of F***-Off, and nothing in between. This is a Garrus playthrough, and I think I should be able to tell someone "It's still me, but I've moved on."
Oh, and the music selection in the captain's cabin sucks.
Stuff I liked that might need a spoilers tag:
- Chasing my hamster around engineering.
- Seeing Kaiden get his head knocked in after he was continuing to be a royal !@#$%^.
- That ambient dialog between the old woman and that Asari she confuses with her daughter-in-law
- Listening to Vega and Cortez talk smack to each other, though they do so with the most awkward sprinkling of Spanish.
