Marking items as owned on Wowhead

EDIT: >.> So I just found that the Character Profiler has a "incomplete" tab under pets. This will be handy for figuring out which I still need to get. But the blow would make things a little more awesome :D
So, I've been frequenting Wowhead for some time now, and was wondering if something like this would be possible to add to the site. I imagine this has been suggested before, but my searching skills fail me.
I'm a big collector, and I'm always searching for more things to add to my collection. The problem is, most of the time I don't remember what I already have! I'd love a function where we can mark an item/pet/mount as "owned" on the website. Then, when searching, we can check a box that says "exclude owned items from search."
Alternatively, an on-site favorites/wishlist function. Simply click the star on an item's page (or in the item listing under search) and it is added to your wishlist so you can reference later what you're looking to get.
Perhaps as an add-on for the browser that works with the site to manipulate it in this way would also be possible. That way it wouldn't take database space, but space on the person's computer instead.
Anyway, just an idea :)

While not incorporated into the database itself, you can see what pets, mounts, etc a character has learned by visiting their profiler page.

beside you should be able too check which pets you got on the armory also. if you dnt have a profile uploaded through the wowhead client.

Yep, I found the profiler thing, but this would be handy for things other than pets/mounts too. For example, toys, tabards, and other things people like to collect (including armor).
If I remember correctly, the new pet system in MoP will also show what pets you don't have (or maybe this was something I dreamed? xD). Either way, incorporating in to the database would be handy.

Handy for collectors, but not for everyone. And considering the amount of extra coding required to incorporate this into every page or to revise the Wowhead Looter to grab that data as well, I'm not sure it's feasible.

You didn't dream that; the companion system in MoP will show all the companions, and those you don't yet have will be greyed out but provide information on how to obtain them. The database currently has this in the profiler option, if you view the companions tab you'll see there are tabs for obtained and not yet obtained companions (same with mounts, archaeology projects, quests, achievements, titles...). If you click on any of the companions there, whether you've learned them or not, you'll be routed to their page where you can learn how to obtain the creature.
