"This is the tower of Karazhan and the residence of my master, Medivh," the ghost replied, "As a humble doorman, there is little else I can explain to you."
The answer had an odd artificial ring to it, as if the old man had been conditioned to repeat it word for word whenever one asked about the place.

Well, still worth a try.
"Riiiiight... So, any tips on 'somewhere safe?' Gorshak? Mr Doorman?"
Kahvi felt confused, but determined to get out.

JJ let out a sigh.
- "Is there any side room I could go to? To be alone for a moment?"

The dwarf jabbed his thumb over his shoulder in the direction of an opposing wall, wherein several alcoves lay, with thick curtains in lieu of doors.

"That, I dare say, would depend entirely on your own concept of safety, miss," the ghost spoke sedately. "Might I even suggest concentrating on that concept so that your thoughts resonate with the safety of these walls?"

"...you can't speak so that I understand you, can you?" she sighed deeply and rolled her eyes. "Just like my husband... But seriously, Gorshak, what's he talking about? Wait, no, don't wanna know. Can you advise me a safe place?"

The ghostly doorman utterly and completely failed to react to Kahvi speaking to Gorshak in any discernible way whatsoever.
"
Spirit uses too many words, but spirit has right idea. Kahvi must decide what danger Kahvi wants to be safe from. Or dangers,
" the orc replied.

Kahvi felt dissapointed and sullen.
'Damn! The ghosts do not seem all that scary, but they are frighteningly useless.'
"Well. Ok. I just wanna go somewhere far from this friggin spiderweb, angry ghosts, freaky horses and, well, have some time to collect my thoughts and, gosh, am I asking so much? I wanna get out, for f@#%'s sake!"

The old man frowned a little bit, as if considering reprimanding Kahvi on her choice of words.
"I humbly express hope that you find what you seek, miss. Farewell, and may you remember fondly the walls of Karazhan," he said eventually, turning around to open a door where naught but solid stone had been a few moments ago. The ghost swung it open-
And fresh air and rays of sunlight rushed into the room.

JJ stood up and thanked the priest. He walked into one of the free alcoves and closed the curtains. The alcove was just large enough to fit a small bench and a table. On the table there was a burning candle next to some scriptures.
He stared into the flame of the candle for several minutes, lost in thought. Finally returning to the present moment, the young man began to absentmindedly read one of the scrolls on the table.

Alistair eschewed experimenting with a fountain pen in favor of a good, old, reliable pencil. He would struggle with his pen later, preferably comfortably seated at a desk; right now the last thing he wanted was a huge inkstain damaging his meticulous notes on the contents of the med kit Brother Bertram was assembling, graciously commenting on each piece.

Well. At least there was a door finally, could save the day. Kahvi struggled to remember something like that, so familiar, in a book or a movie, but the thought kept slithering away.
"Well, thank you, I guess. Hope, I will".
Usually she wouldn't just enter a door that had just appeared in solid stone, but then again, first, she had never had an opportunity, second, had always had a bunch of people that kept telling her things like: oh no, don't do it, think of the consequences, blah blah blah. She felt reckless and irritated, and so rushed through the door.
"Ok. That looks... Pretty sweet, heh".
Green hills, covered with grass, high trees, cypresses probably, and mountains in the distance. And a small black ram was grazing nearby, not caring at all for her arrival. She turned back to look at the place she'd left, but... The door was just hanging in the air. And fading quickly. And she didn't dare touch it now. Soon she could see only a bunch of houses in the distance, right through the place where the door used to be.
"I suppose, going back is never an option", she let out a small sad laugh, and with a moan descended to the ground. "And now, it is time to have a rest and chat. Where are we?"

The orc's transparent figure was somewhat harder to discern against the open sky compared to the confines of Karazhan, but his voice was still chillingly clear.
"
Hrmph. Might be Khaz Modan, dwarf lands. Gorshak not sure, cannot see clearly.

"Dwarf", she repeated gravely, with an indescribable look on her face. "Dwarf lands".
Kahvi gave her injured leg a critical look and winced: the jeans were torn and soaking with blood right under her knee. She rolled up the rough fabric and sighed even deeper. The skin had been split open where the metal had struck her shin, now swiftly swelling and oozing with blood. And she could bet there was going to be one hell of a bruise.
"I'm not very smart, and now I'm going to ask you a bunch of stupid questions. Please, be patient. First, where are we? I mean, yeah, "Has Madan", that I get. But in a global sense? Country, continent, planet, I dunno? Where I live, there are no orcs, dwarves or ghosts. Actually, today is the first time I've seen an orc, transparent one or not."

Kahvi says Kahvi never seen orc, yet Kahvi knows Gorshak is orc,
" Gorshak mused. The phantom knelt to try and feel the green beneath his feet, only for the blades of grass to pass seamlessly through his fingers.
"
Hrmph. Gorshak knows little of world. Orcs from other world, dying world. This world green, alive. Beautiful. Orc Horde come for new home, orcs fight humans, dwarves, elves here. Now in Khaz Modan, dwarf land, if Gorshak right. South, Azeroth, human land. Also Karazhan. Far, far south.

'So, this is a Warcraft-like place, no matter how weird the idea is. Too bad I haven't been listening carefully enough when Al was talking about it'.
On seeing Gorshak's useless attempt to touch the grass, she suddenly felt so unbearably sad. She had to put much effort not to start crying again.
"I've seen pictures. In our... world... we've got - let's call them legends - about the orcs, the Horde and stuff. I've never believed them to be true, but, well, dreamt to live in a world where they are. To meet a real orc, even if it goes against common sense. Dreams come true, I guess"'
Kahvi finally put the axe down, but made sure to remain in physical contact with it. She didn't want to stay alone even for a short period of time, to be honest. She took off the chain-mail, the sweater and the t-shirt, thus leaving the black bra the only piece of clothing on the upper side of her body. Now a small silver cross was visible on her neck. It was chill, but the t-shirt was the only thing fitting for her aims. She tore off two broad pieces of cloth and started bandaging herself.
"You're dead, right? And can't reunite with your ancestors 'cause of the curse."
She kept silent for a while, trying to put the improvised bandage tighter on her leg. Back in schooldays their tutor showed them how to make bandages and she knew something about first aid too, but that was so long ago... In the times when she thought, maybe, there were other worlds, that humans only thought they'd created...
"What's with the curse, by the way? Can I get rid of it? And, well, perhaps, help you? If I manage to survive, haha. I'd like to help you, if that is even possible... Though typically I'm not an altruistic type. How have you learnt about the curse in the first place?"
Gosh, it was hard to be patient and consistent! Kahvi was nervous and sad, and when she was nervous, she just couldn't stop talking.

"Kahvi strange and funny, right, I couldn't say it better", she grimaced and put on a t-shirt - well, what was left of it. Now, it barely touched the high waist of the jeans, but, could be worse. She put the rest of the clothes back on too.
"Still, I'm intending to try. Got no choice, I guess, if I can't just "lose" the axe. Do you mind helping? It's always better to try than not to".
She felt a bit awkward about her previous sentimental impulse. It was easier to have Gorshak teasing and taunting though.

" the orc's smile warmed just a tad. "
Said doubts Kahvi can help. Did not say will not help Kahvi help Gorshak. Action is good. Kahvi soon need to fight, Gorshak thinks. Gorshak also thinks Kahvi never learn to fight. Might need help with that.

"Could you help with
that
?" now she sounded eager and excited. Well, of course, it was a matter of survival and solving the curse problem, but also another childish dream that until now had seemed impossible. What a day, what a lovely day!
Though Kahvi was getting tired by now by her own mood swings.
