My play the real cards with my several friends who collect the cards. I can't be bothered to spend money on a lot of cards. I also have played both DotP games and the old MicroProse mtg game.

I consider myself warned.
We bought two different "Intro Packs" from the 2012 core set. She got a white/green set, with focuses on gryphons angels and trolls, and I got a white/blue set, that seems to focus on an assortment of things, with my "foil" card being this Sphinx.
Edit: ok, ive got the "Mystical Might" deck, and she got the "Sacred Assault" deck
Ok. My wife and I have played about 6 games now. I've won every single one. Usually I get out some flying creatures before she has time to get some counter creatures out, and I just chip away at her health.
We have a few questions:
1) I used my Aether Adept creature, which makes target creature go back to player's hand when it goes onto the battlefield. I targeted one of her creatures, but it was enchanted. What happens to the enchantment? We didn't know, so we put it in her graveyard.
2) I mind controlled one of her creatures. She then pacified it. Can she do that? If she hadn't pacified it, could I have attacked her with it? How would she block then?
3) During my attack phase, what is the order of events? Can she cast spells and auras, etc, during the beginning of my attack phase, if they aren't instants? Can she block with cards that she attacked with during her turn (the ones without vigilance)?
4) I had this metal golem thing that "enters the battlefield tapped". What is the difference between that and summoning sickness?

I'll give this a shot.
1) I used my Aether Adept creature, which makes target creature go back to player's hand when it goes onto the battlefield. I targeted one of her creatures, but it was enchanted. What happens to the enchantment? We didn't know, so we put it in her graveyard.
The enchantments go to the graveyard.
2) I mind controlled one of her creatures. She then pacified it. Can she do that? If she hadn't pacified it, could I have attacked her with it? How would she block then?
Yes, you can stack up as many enchantments as you like on a creature. Mind Control gives you control of it, Pacifism prevents it from attacking or blocking. On the turn you took control of it, you already couldn't attack though, because it would be summoning sick. If she Pacified it on the next turn, that's perfectly fine,
From the official rules:
302.6. A creature‘s activated ability with the tap symbol or the untap symbol in its activation cost can‘t be activated unless the creature has been under its controller‘s control continuously since his or her most recent turn began. A creature can‘t attack unless it has been under its controller‘s control continuously since his or her most recent turn began. This rule is informally called the 'summoning sickness' rule
This also means that if she destroys the Mind Control enchantment somehow during her next turn, it would again be summoning sick.
(I may have missed the point of this question though -- You can only cast Mind Control on one of your Main phases, and she can only cast Pacifism on one of her main phases, So if you meant, can she cast Pacifism in response to your Mind Control, or on your turn, then no.)
3) During my attack phase, what is the order of events? Can she cast spells and auras, etc, during the beginning of my attack phase, if they aren't instants? Can she block with cards that she attacked with during her turn (the ones without vigilance)?
This one is tricky, but I think the basic idea is that you pass priority back and forth a few times.
You declare your attackers, then you both have a chance to cast instants.
She declares her blockers, then you both have a chance to cast instants.
Combat damage is dealt (after decisions about where the damage goes and when, in the case of multiple blockers) -- First Strike happens first, and normal damage happens second, but there is no "stack" for damage, so you can't cast instants at this point.
You can only block with untapped creatures. If her creatures are tapped, they cannot be used as blockers -- this usually means a creature that attacks will be unavailable for blocking on the next turn (which is why Vigilance is nice).
4) I had this metal golem thing that "enters the battlefield tapped". What is the difference between that and summoning sickness?
Other creatures would generally be available to block the turn after they are summoned. The golem is not, because tapped creatures cannot be used to block.

Right on, Heckler.
Also, I'll give you guys a run-down of a few of my decks just to see other possibilities.
Greed - green / white / black - Green for
mana acceleration
, white for
removal
and
enchants
, and black for
creatures
,
enchants
, and
removal
. Lots of
sacrificing life for some effect
and then trying to gain more life back, hence Greed.
Recursion - mono-black - Cards like
Buried Alive
to put
creatures
from my library into my graveyard and then bring them back with stuff like
Exhume
for less mana and much more quickly than I would be able to cast them right out.
Eye of the Storm - blue / red - Name is for the main card in the deck,
Eye of the Storm
. This deck is fun because it can get really confusing really quickly. Basically,
I play spells
, which allows me to
play more spells
and draw more cards and play more spells and then kill you with one spell copied 30 times (ie
Ignite Memories
)

Just to add to you answer the questions, you cannot cast spells that are not instants or do not have flash at any point during the combat phase. All you can do is cast instant and activate abilities on any of your permanents in the battlefield.

I really loved my storm deck, the only bad part was it felt cheesy and overpowered. I would win a lot, in a very predictable way. Once the
Rite of Flame
and
Seething Song
started getting played, my opponent usually just rolled his eyes and started shuffling.
I've been sucker for "White Weenie" decks ever since I first started though. I still remember finally getting my fourth
Crusade
=) These rarely felt cheesy, and I usually lost -- but they were fun =)

That's why mine isn't just a storm deck. Mine is super chaos!

planeswalker? haha
you and me are on the same boat th en.
I brought my friend in, he got a free Plain / Forrest deck, I got Plain / Blue, then I told my friend yesterday to get a Fire / Black. LAter on, I'm gonna take my little brother and get him a GREEN / GREEN deckk.
I like these planeswalker deck. I t hink I am going to remain standard. Standard decks keeps your strategy original. =D
What kind of planeswlaker deck do you have?

chaosultimamage
Actually, I find Standard is usually incredibly stagnant because everyone finds the 2 best decks and just uses them. Other formats, with more variety of cards, allow for a lot more originality.
I haven't played in tournaments since like 2000 or so.

So, I'm going to a launch event tomorrow and diving straight into booster drafting. I'm going to get my ass handed to me ...
We did our own little draft one time while I was in the military. We all chipped in and bought one or two boxes of boosters then followed some draft rules we found online and had a little round-robin to seed followed by a double-elimination tournament. We split the unopened boosters among the top 3. This was really fun, and if it wasn't so expensive, I could see it being my favorite playstyle.
I'm not sure where I stand on Standard vs. Vintage. I agree with chaos that any given standard set will favor a few decks. But I sorta like how counters to these decks pop up too. In Vintage, it's probably rare that you would be prepared to stop a certain mechanic (since the odds of seeing it aren't too high), but in Standard, it might be vital (since 75% of people will be using a version of 2 or 3 deck ideas).
The old argument was that old cards were overpowered, but it seems like that's not as true anymore. And with the banned/restricted lists in place, I don't think Vintage is broken or anything. I also don't really like how Standard kinda forces you to keep buying large amounts of cards, they're not exactly cheap.
At this point, I'm very content to play with the M12 intro decks against random people on the free trial. =)

free trial? where?

chaosultimamage
Yeah, the one downside of playing Vintage or Legacy is that there is no way you can plan for everything. There's just too much variation for that. But, that also makes it kinda fun.
When you get to a tourney and you play against the same deck 4 times with 4 different people, it gets really old, even if you're winning. If you look at the top players from the big tournaments, you'll see at least 2 of every deck and most of the times you'll see 4 or 5 of them.

Heckler, thanks for clearing that up.
If I mind control her creature, do I attack with it during my attack phase, as if it were my creature?
