Yes you need to be using them. There are a few. The first and foremost is the steady/auto macro that will prevent auto shot clipping. This provides optimal shot rotation. There are 2 different macros based on your spec and weapon speed. BM with faster weapons should be using a 1:1 macro which is great for most specs and situations. The slower 3:2 macro can provide higher DPS in certain situations with the right weapon. Go look on the official WoW forums for the macros.
There are also some simpler ones you can modify on your own. On of them is a Raptor Strike / Wing Clip macro.
/cast Raptor Strike
/cast Wing Clip
This puts your Raptor Strike en queue for your next attack and until its ready it will cast Wing Clip instead. This is a great macro to spam when mobs or players get too close to you and you want to do decent damage and/or slow them. Another is what I like to call the "I WIN" macro. Simply put it's a combination of your Bestial Wrath, Rapid Fire, and a typical on-use AP buff trinket. A sample macro might look something like this:
/cast Bladefist's Breadth
/cast Bestial Wrath
/cast Rapid Fire
The BW is optional and you might actually want to save that for when you need it. BW only provides 10% extra damage which is nice but not as nice as being able to escape any form of CC or slow. So you might consider just using Rapid Fire and the trinket for when you are ranged and can lay down a large ammount of damage for the full duration of Rapid Fire.
Another useful one is to cast the hunter's mark on the same target you send your pet to attack. This can save you loads of time. The macro looks like this:
/petattack
/cast Hunter's Mark
That's just off the top of my head, the "petattack" portion might be different but I wont know until I'm in front of my macro screen. What you do is keybind that to a keystroke or series of keystrokes (alt+1 for me) so that whenever you hit your keybinding you will send your pet to attack and put a mark on your target. This way you will never forget the mark.
