If you want to level as a resto I'd strongly recommend pairing up withsomeone who is going to do most of the killing, and can hold aggro off you when you are healing them. A feral druid partner would be good, as would a warrior or a warlock.
If you play mostly solo, only level up as resto if you are ok with the fact that it will take you 3 times longer than everyone else.

everyone ive ever talked to that made it to 70, and leveled as a healing spec (not just druids), have all said it was the worst mistake they ever made. By the time you get to lvl 70, your just so sick and tired of healing, you dont ever want to do it again.
Their reasons were almost always the same (to learn how to play a healer well while leveling up), and the thing is, is you DONT learn how to be a good healer while leveling. It is completely different. Instances are a lot easier, people are a lot less skilled or not spec'd correctly for their current group dynamic, etc etc. Its not even close to how it is at lvl 70.
You can heal for groups while being oomkin or feral spec'd while leveling up by just putting on a set of healing gear for when its needed. You dont need to be spec'd for it, to do it well, until you hit level 70.
