It depends greatly on the current patch and whether you are focusing on bg or arena.
Arena currently:
Mages, DK, feral druid and arms warr are doing enormous amounts of damage.
BG currently:
Mages, DK, feral druids, hunters and arms warr are doing a lot of damage.
For arena's you would need to worry about composition instead of strictly the damage output.
Also, affliction warlocks are doing very good. But i would say what i listed are doing the most ( from my experience ). This could vary from battle group to battle group because of skill levels for each class varrying. You need to worry more about compositions instead of the most damage output.

Although, from someone not too used to World of Warcraft's environment, this may seem a valid question, WoW's structure is such that classes are usually designed to have at the very very least one viable PvP spec. Which is strongest? They have ups and downs, but even a class on the down side can reach high ratings in the hands of skilled enough players to handle it.
That being said, your choice should focus your taste above anything else; you shouldn't be disappointed with whatever class you choose if you're willing to adapt, and not too concerned about quick gains.

No, no. I'm serious. They, like, have stuns and stuff, and they can be invisible, and they can one-shot clothies without even trying. They're OP, I tell you!
