LF stat comparison addon for newbs

So, my wife would like to start playing WoW again but has determined that she probably won't re-sub until I find an addon that will help her compare gear. The most annoying part for her when we used to play together before was waiting for me to look up whether a quest reward was better than what she already had. Usually I just kept the item comparison page open here and plugged in the pieces, but that still takes time. What I'd like is an addon that takes into account your current class/spec and then gives the item a score based on the stats important to you. Then the comparison is simply "Oh, this has a score of 87 and that one is only 82. Upgrade!", or "These are only 1 point off from each but I like the looks of this one better".
Even if I have to manually search for stat values and input them that'll work, but auto-populated scores would be best. This would also help me in leveling my many alts since I rarely bother to understand the inner works of a specs' stats until I'm at level cap.
Thanks for any help!

That looks absolutely awesome and may have been one I meddled with in the past. I'll add it in and mess with it tomorrow.

Yep, I clicked this to recommend RatingBuster. I can't play without it. The stat summary at the bottom of the tooltips is completely customizable with whatever information is relevant to you.
@Kopking I think the stat weights are infact required for Pawn to rate an item. I imagine you can customize them, but that means that the onus is on you to determine when the weights have changed. With RB, you just look at raw stats. This item gives me 0.40% more dodge than this piece, etc.

RatingsBuster would be fine for my main, but for an alt I rarely play (or in the case of my wife who logs about 5 hours on a good week) to remember whether +10(insert 1st random stat here) is better than +4(insert 2nd random stat here) on my (insert random class here) is just a bit too much. I did used to use RatingsBuster back in BC and absolutely loved it, but it's just not the optimal addon for my situation now.
Keep in mind, this will only be used for leveling ease. Once I hit the level cap with any toon I'll then be sure to do some heavy research and know my stat weights for my chosen spec.

C'mon Toldu. It's not that complicated. Off the top of my head:
Hunter: Agility
Rogue: Agility
Warrior: Strength
Death Knight: Strength
Druid(Feral): Agility
Druid(Balance): Intellect
Druid(Resto): Intellect/Spirit
Etc.
And I know you know that Agility and Strength give attack power. Agility gives crit. You know the effect of haste, and so on. If you do want to use pre-configured stat weights, do use Pawn. It's what you asked for.
EDIT
: Moreover, if it's "just for leveling" then min/maxing haste versus crit or anything of that nature is a waste of time in the first place. You want to know if a new piece increases your primary power stats by more than your current piece. That's a pretty simple thing to assess.

Having a quick look at pawn, it seems to give a score to each item, is that based on your spec? If so, where does it take it's stat weights from? There doesn't seem to be very much info available on the page linked.
Pawn is basically an in-game version of the Wowhead stat weighting feature. You assign scores to stats and it adds them up. You concoct these weight scales on your own -- it does not look at your spec or anything fancy like that.
For the lazy, Pawn comes pre-loaded with all the Wowhead weight scales. The problem is that most of the Wowhead scales are still pre-4.0 values (with Mastery mindlessly tacked on at 100 score), so they're useless.

Not complicated you say? Figuring out how to reforge my rogue is a NP-Hard problem, if not actually NP-Complete. Ball is in your court Mr. pelf.

Some bold and italics return the ball to you, sir.
As for your rogue, just use that Java app
:)

Java app crashes if you have an item without reforgable stats on it, which I do. Have to use the perl one. Thank god for my core i7 and multi-threading.... 466,560,000 possible combinations :3
Also, that is an opinion. It's not a waste of time at all if you're leveling via the LFD system where your dps can very likely be the cause of a vote-kick. Also, min/maxing while leveling teaches you to pick out the proper gear at max level, meaning its easier for you to spot upgrades. 15 all.

If you're assassination you want to gem Agi and reforge hit > mastery > haste > crit. Ignoring socket bonuses below 20 Agi.
Before this gets derailed... What class/spec toons does your wife play? I can try to dig up some recent/accurate stat values.
Its rarely that simple... It's more like this:
In order:
crit to hit (below spell cap)
haste to hit (below spell cap)
mastery to hit (below spell cap)
crit to mastery (above spell cap)
haste to mastery (above spell cap)
hit to mastery (above spell cap)
(You can argue that this is a moot point, but I was
constantly
over the spell hit cap while leveling)
For example, my specific EP values:
Agi 2.58
Yellow Hit 1.56
Spell hit 1.28
Mastery 1.14
Str 1.05
Haste 1.05
Exp 0.95
Crit 0.85
White Hit 0.67
My reforges:
crit to hit
crit to hit
haste to hit
haste to hit
haste to hit
crit to mastery
crit to mastery
crit to mastery
crit to mastery
crit to mastery
crit to mastery
haste to mastery
haste to mastery
hit to mastery
As you can see, some weird things happen (like the hit > mastery reforge). This is because the above reforges put me as close as possible to the spell hit cap without exceeding it (16.96% out of 17%).
There is no simple rule to reforing, especially as a rogue.

I don't think anyone would believe that the issue of optimal gearing is a simple one at level cap where that's the only variable next to spec. However (and I do recognize the irony of me saying this) that's not relevant to this topic.

Maxing dps is always relevant as a rogue. It's all we do
:P
. That said, I'll agree that its not
as
important, but its a good habit to be getting into. I know that I'd be in a world of hell if I hadn't started figuring out how to reforge optimally prior to actually hitting 85 (I'd also be down about 2k gold from all the failed reforge attempts
XD
).

Fair enough on the mindset point.
