Jump shot kiting is the original method, and still well worth learning as it is by far the most effective, and gives you the most distance + control. In many circumstances it's just no longer necessary.

Jump shot kiting is the original method, and still well worth learning as it is by far the most effective, and gives you the most distance + control. In many circumstances it's just no longer necessary.
It looks more graphically appealing* and may seem more effective than sidestep kiting but its not.
* - especially if you character has some special jump animation like Delves and Belves do.
