Just got 85, and wondering what the best heroic/raid spec is

Hi, i just dinged 85, and i dont really think that my current spec is ideal, anyone know what a good spec is? here is my armory page:http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/area-52/ettick/simple
still 84 on armory, but the spec is what im wondering about lol

I'm sorry, why not spec arcane? and for that matter even fire?....I have found both do more dps and wth fires cauterize ability it is almost a 2nd life? Just wondering, I was frost while leveling and have switched my specs to fire and arcane and have been hitting up around 9k single target dps, while frost is pulling around 6-7k

At level 85? With Arcane?

Yes at 85 with arcane. Lvl 333 gear.

Wow, good for you. I've only managed around 7-8k with Fire and frost.

Depending on the fight, I can do about 9k DPS as arcane. I am at an ilvl of 335. I have also tried doing regular with my frost spec and my fire spec, before making it into arcane.

Also with arcane you can still use RoF for a nice CC but you also get good talents to help with CC. Such as Improved Counterspell to keep mobs from getting off a spell, Invocation to increase damage after casting CS, and Improved Polymorph in case the CC breaks and the tank isn't near to grab aggro.

For heroics its harder for me to tell as the groups I'm in, mostly LFD groups, rarely get past the first boss.

Fire imo. Great DPS and you can do a decent DPS even if your oom. :) Dragon's Breath is nice "CC" to use to prevent the mobs hit the tank if he goes low.

I have a guildie who has been pulling 9-10k on bosses in heroics. Maybe you have the rotation goofed up?

Yeah, I suspect that too, and partly coz I'm trying to balance dps with cc and moving. Didn't realize how rusty I was by running normal 5-mans. Heroics was sure a huge wake-up call. :)

Ya not quite sure why people are saying that arcane isnt viable anymore.
Still topping the charts in heroics at a steady 9.7k dps with bursts around 14k.
Ok yes it is a little more difficult to do than it was in WotLK but hey... makes it more fun :-)
It is definitely more difficult to keep mana though.

Arcane is an awesome DPS spec and, compared to fire, very easy to handle for generating maximum output.

Plus you get the ultra-sweet insta-cast Invisibility. Can't even count how many times I've been the only person surviving a wipe because of it.

thanks for the replies, i am trying out frost at the moment, and it is pretty good, but fire is a bit better imo, it does like twice the aoe damage, and is about the same on single targets.
