As a warrior used the smites mighty hammer, and the cloak off of van cleef untill I was level 45ish
When a guildy offered to buy me a sword off of the AH for like 5g I told him, "No man I dont want you to spend all your gold on me!"
Didn't get a mount till 50ish
Was full pepper and refused to use mortal strike as a warrior (I didn't get that far down the tree untill about 60) also because I didn't know you could re-spec
needless to say I thought leveling all characters was this hard

My brother told me loads about WoW before/when I started so I wasn't all THAT bad, but still...
When I was a noob I...
...Made a macro that was this: "target self Power Word: Shield" thinking I could finally have a macro with which I could cast it on myself (no auto self cast back then).
...Refrained from using my wand if not in extreme danger, fearing it would run out of charges.
...Rolled a Dwarf Rogue because I heard dwarves can use Guns.
...Wore a ring with +6 spirit for several levels on my rogue, explaining it improved my health regeneration.
...After getting my butt kicked in WSG I decided I need more damage, so I started stacking strength.
...Tried putting up a rogue-only guild.
...Thought having only 100 energy throughout the game was ridiculous.
...Not unlike many others I thought Thottbot was awesome.
...And ran through the Deeprun Tram, just to see how it's like.
...Tanked Deadmines wielding a 2h axe (we did make it to the end though!).
...Switched my starting weapon to some sort of a fishing pole because it had more dps.
...Thought Taurens were the slowest race in game.
Not me, but my brother rolled a rogue for his first char and thought he was playing a hunter until his early 30's. He already didn't wear any headgear on his way to 60 because most of them were butt ugly.

First character, still my main is my shaman...rolled around Dec. 12, 2004..
..didn't realize till I was level 15 or so that I had talent points..
..when I did realize, like others, I thought it best to spread the points around..
..thought stacking spirit would regenerate health and mana like crazy (remember, shaman)..
..would equip any blue that dropped or I could afford off the AH for the simple fact it was blue..
...I too thought 1g was huge.
...many embarrassing things. I always treat new players kindly. We've all been there. You aren't born with knowledge, gotta obtain it. I'm more than glad to share what I know.

Oh man...This is probably going to be a long list.
- I sold all my magic items I couldn't use at vendors because I didn't know there was AH.
- I thought I had to be a really high level to get to areas with other races, like Ironforge and Darnassus.
- I thought a three silver reward for a quest was a lot of money.
- I thought a horde could kill me if he was tagged, even if I wasn't, so I'd hide somewhere whenever I saw one.
- I really didn't understand the need and greed thing
- I was scared to talk in guild chat because I thought I wasn't allowed because I was a new guild member (that one is weird, I know)
- I thought having four flight points was a lot
- I didn't know there were three talent trees
- After I found out, I thought I had to spread all my points between the three trees.
- I didn't dual wield with my hunter until lvl thirty something because I was using the staff from DM and I thought it looked really cool. I also wore a white cloth chest from lvl 12 or something for like, six lvls because I thought it was pretty. Same thing with a pair of red boots.

My very first character was a mage, and naturally wore robes, primarily. I got so tired of not seeing my legs I bought crappy vests so I could see my pants.
Also, on my mage, I thought my fireballs weren't powerful enough, so I melee'd, and died. Numerous times.
Whenever named female night elves started dancing, I got angry and demanded to know why they were degrading their bodies. It didn't occur to me men played female characters. *blush* I was stupid.
