All in all I'd say the game has gotten better but there are a few things I wax nostalgic for.

I miss the days when the tier 0 stuff was ZOMG AWESOME. I miss the days when getting your epic mount was really an accomplishment. I miss the pre-battleground days when 40 man raids on crossroads were not uncommon, followed by massive suicide raids on Ogrimmar which made my computer cry but were fun.

I don't miss the 40 man raids at all but they did have that.. epic feel to them I suppose. Getting 40 people to work together to get something done was quite an accomplishment.

And yes, I really really really really miss the days before freaking gold spammers.

I miss when you had to know the correct flight paths to go places. If I had to go to Shadowprey Village, you had to fly from org to Barrens, then to Stonetalon Peak, then to Shadowprey.

I miss UBRS. That's it. The only really cool thing pre-TBC was leading a UBRS raid, and even then there were some flaws with it. I really wouldn't mind if there was a 10 man raid that had a very small lockout timer, maybe a day long, with like two or three bosses that dropped heroic badges and some epics. Naxxramas is great but its a week long lockout so even when it moves to PuG status, when you want to do something but you've done all the heroics 10 times already you're pretty much out of luck.

A Caverns of Time instance where you went back in time to help Rhonin free Alexstraza would be pretty interesting, would give some back story to Rhonin for non-book readers, would fit with the Nexus War theme going on, and it would help lead up to the inevitable Grim Batol raid instance. Rhonin's model is already in game, Alexstraza's model is in game, and there's plenty of orc and infinite dragonflight models in game, so it wouldn't take blizzard much work. Kind of OT but whatever.

this is easy!..i miss IL or ironlag (ironforge) you remember back in the day when it had the only AH on the alliance side..i miss hearing people complain about all the lag and the ah crowded up you couldnt even find the npcs...ohh boy good times

the challenge of making a group for a instance then finishing it before blizzard made everything easier to finish. uldaman the last boss O.o having to have 44+ group just to be able to down that last boss.now people are jsut asking for boost or help instead of questing on thier own. and magtheridon being a challenge with the huge dmg from the roof falling. im just saying i miss the challenge in everything. and questhelper is pretty annoying when people see that it has a level 55 next to the quest so they ask you for help, most the time they dont even try the quest

Instances you had to actually work to finish, learning encounters with other new players in PUGs, sweeping strikes being in arms, not fury, arms, no fury tree :P
