One suggestion if you are having performance issues is to disable Aero. A quick search of google should give you some instructions on how to do that. Aero sucks up a ton of system resources.

Ok first off you DON'T have an Nvidia Radeon since Radeon's are made by ATI not Nvidia.
Secondly I use Vista and yes it sucks for drivers right now, SP 1 should be out early next year which should fix some of that. Nvidia does have issues but I would be happy to help you troubleshoot it.
