How to melt Black Iron

Please, could somebody tell me exactly how to learn to melt black iron?? I already know I have to go to the forge inside BRD, but how can I LEARN to melt it??

Unless you need it badly (don't have the expansion e.g.), don't bother. The stuff is hard to get, hard to find, hard to use, and becomes fairly useless in about 5-8 levels when you hit Outland.

Dark Iron was more in demand back in the days of Molten Core when it was commonly used for level 60 Fire Resistance gear. Those days have come and gone, and now very few items are worth the trouble of scraping together some Dark Iron (though it's not obscenely difficult). I had a
Dark Iron Pulverizer
crafted for my paladin when she was leveling as Retribution; its a solid, awesome little weapon with a sweet proc. Other than that though, now, it's uses are limited. I also wanted to point out that the information regarding the smelting of Dark Iron Ore can also be found
