Holy In Outland

I'm a level 62 Holy Paladin, and in Outland. Now what? I was Ret until 58, but I wanted to go Holy so that I could get some gear ready and get experienced in healing for Kara.

I can get an instance group any time I want. People love Holy Paladins.

I can't seem to get any of my 23+ quests done though, because, ya know. I'm holy. Groups are a bit hard to find for my quests. I'm not trying to QQ, just asking for advice from anyone who wants to give it. What would you do if you were me?

P.S. Don't say reroll Ret.

Hmm, that's strange..I don't quite understand what I'm doing diffrently. I pop SoC, then SoR, then I consecrate, then start holy shocking. Something wrong with this?

You're 63, maybe you have more spell damage than me or something? I don't know how to find spell damage. I know I have +802 to healing though, which I think is a lot for level 62.

im holy currently at 63 and i agree, i have no problem soloing a lot of the quests without nearly as much +healing/+spell

with that said, reis you mind posting your armory or gear? i'd like to see what youve got for spell gear.

Grab a 2 hander and use that to DPS mobs down with SoR, there is usually a lot of 2 handers about

I'm not sure how to post mine. I'm Chatillon, on Illidan PvP server. As for spell damage. What? I heal stuff. I never imagined I would have to be dealing DAMAGE. D:

I think you may just not be healing yourself. You can't expect to be able to DPS like a dps class, but you can do some good burst damage as holy. You should be having no problems even with multiple mob pulls unless they bash spam you. As holy, you will need to heal yourself when necessary due to your lower then dps class output. Maybe you are just trying to play as a ret spec, when you are now a holy spec. IDK... Holy is very different tho. And 802+heals is a MAJOR accomplishment at your level. A lot of 70s don't have that much +heals. Waiting for your armory to load here, let's see....

I see you are holding out to the clothadin genre. You may want to think about getting some spell damage plate for soloing. Clothadins are great for instances because you can get more +heals out of it, yes. This does however make you pretty squishy. Soloing, you need to have the plate to be able to take the beating to hold out long enough to grind down mob hp.

Pause for 10 mins while talents load.... man i hate the scripting on blizz's pages...

Yeah, get some plate. The toughness you are holding in talents doesn't do much for cloth, but with full plate gear, you will probably reduce your damage intake by half. Other then that, you look good. Remember, wow is all about gear. You will likely carry 2 sets of gear at all times, maybe 3 if you want to do some melee dps every once in a while. Outlands is full of healing and spell damage plate. It makes the wars unhappy. You should be able to find some descent stuff. You will most likely reduce your +heals and spell damage, but your survivability will sky rocket. Just keep your healing gear for the group stuff. =)

Hehe, just hope you don't pick on a frost mage, lock, or shadow priest that knows how to play their toon. You will understand the meaning of caster dps... LOL!

I made the same mistake Chatillon did when leveling. If you don't have your spec set before that trinket quest, you end up getting the wrong one... I missed that quest by 1 level and kicked myself untill i grinded enough rep to get my prayer book.

Would it really be so bad to just grind instances to 70? I mean, I already have great healing gear. I know more I can get right now as well (and am working on it). Would this take as long or longer or what?

My pally is currently 66, and I've done like 3 quest chains after hellfire just for the gear, aside from that it's all been instance grinding. If you can get a reliable tank and a few dpsers you can call on you can pretty much run things whenever you want.
Definitely a viable choice.
