Hard to give specific pointers based on what you've given us, but...
- Build your spell damage. There are several excellent items that you can get without setting foot in a raid, or even a heroic instance. Frozen Shadoweave and Spellstrike. The Gladiator's Spellblade. The Vindicator's Silk Cuffs. Start farming for badges, spend your enchanting and gemming funds wisely, and you'll be hitting like a truck in short order.
- Gradually build your spell hit. You don't need to get this to 202 by Thursday, but you want to start getting pieces into place. Use Veiled Noble Topaz in the gear you intend to keep for a long time, Veiled Flame Spessarite in those you don't. Pick up a pair of PvP gloves and get a spell damage enchant on them - and if you can afford it, another pair with a spell hit enchant for the boss fights.
- Do your homework. There are a number of sites out there that will tell you what to expect in the various boss fights and what you can expect your job to be. Take advantage of them.
- Builds. 41/0/20 and its variants are the standard for a new warlock raider. 41/7/11 +2 and 5/43/11 +2 are viable alternatives. Discuss your build with those who are heading up the raids in your guild so you can be of the most use.

^^^ What he said.
0/21/40 is the cookie cutter destro raid build, and is frequently used by warlocks in T6 (and some in T5) content. The reason new warlock raiders don't use it is that it will underperform affliction builds until you have the gear to support them. Destro scales better than affliction due to Shadow and Flame, which is a huge talent for shadow bolts, and Demonic Sacrifice for the 15% damage bonus. Affliction is better with poorer gear because you're able to pile more and more base damage from the extra dots in the tree and your mana recovery is incredible.
