So I was looking around on EJ the other day and oddly enough it has
Windsong
as being better then
Dancing Steel
do to the high chance of having more then 1 buff up at a time. So here is the question which would you use on your ret?

And I'm good still hanging in there. Moved to a different server because the one I was born on died and wasn't come back. So I might start raiding again Ionno.

I'm not sure where you found that EJ recommends Windsong. Is that somewhere later in the thread? Could you link it, please?
Windsong can proc all 3 stats (Crit, Haste, and Mastery) simultaneously.
This provides 4500 secondary stats vs Dancing Steel's 1650 Str, with potentially roughly the same up-time. The sheer quantity of additional stats makes Windsong superior if this pans out. If Windsong is changed to permit only 1 proc at a time, Dancing Steel will shoot ahead in comparison.
Windsong appears to be underperforming - proc rate appears to be 1 PPM for all 3 combined, rather than each separately. This varies from how it performed in Beta. Roughly 13% up-time for any given buff, thus 13%^3 (0.2%) chance to have all simultaneously. Dancing Steel should definitely pull ahead. Windsong does still appear to be superior to Elemental Force.
Balhale's modeling shows Windsong 0.7% to 1.4% total DPS
behind
Dancing Steel this tier.
We still need to test Windsong and Dancing Steel intensively in the game to determine more details of their proc mechanics. Previous enchants have been made/broken based on Ret-specific details such as Censure applications and Seal procs.
Recommend the mat-cheaper Windsong on pre-Raid gear. For Raid weaponry you may upgrade to Dancing Steel. 5.2 Raid Weapons strongly recommend themselves to Dancing Steel.

Ok, I didn't see the amended part of there post they really should edit that top part.
But with us not being in 5.2 anymore has anything changed about Dancing Steel vs. Windsong?

Like they say at the bottom, use Windsong if the weapon won't last long, are in pre-raid gear, or you don't have the money. After you're actually geared up and are willing to shell out the 5k (on my server at least) then DS is the upgrade.

Wow 5k that a rip-off... Sha Crystals run between 200-250g each on my server. But I have the added bones of being an enchanter so I don't have to worry about buying those.
Want the debate is about is trying to figure out the ppm on the enchants and there up time to see which is the better choice. Guess I might need to buy some cheap MoP weapons and go to the fail dummy and see which is the better dps.

I ran SimC (10000 iterations for a Patchwerk style fight) with both Dancing Steel and Windsong for my own paladin (awful ret gear) and some random paladin I found on WoL rankings (insane ret gear). Dancing Steel was a consistent ~1600-1700 dps increase over Windsong in both cases.
Since I'm a bit reluctant to spend the equivalent 75 000 hours testing it myself ingame I'm just going to go with that being fairly accurate. I thought Dancing Steel was even better than SimC says it is actually, but then again, I'm also an Enchanter so I can live with my virtually free weapon enchant upgrade over Windsong being slightly less cost effective than previously imagined.
