You can do dungeons together, but you'll have to manually zone in, as you can't use the LFD tool. This also means it'll just be the two of you (unless you ask around in trade/guild if others want to come).
Another solution is to just help him quest, having a higher level killing mobs for him will speed things up quite a bit.

I vote the questing thing.
If you party up, you will nerf his XP some, but if he pulls and tags the mobs, and then you AoE them down, you won't get the kill, he does. And full XP.
From what I've heard you can do no longer tag mobs and have people outside of the party kill them for full XP. I think they changed that after certain people did that in order to get world first Level 80/85.
If this is true, than you'll probably need to do over 50% of the damage in order to get full XP.

Not sure about that. The mob xp reduction was introduced after the world first 85 thing with Athene. He got it by tagging mobs in Icecrown and having others kill them. Just after that Blizzard made mob xp reduce to 10% once you had reached the level for the next xpac, so once you hit 80 Northrend mob xp drops, once you hit 85 Cata mob xp drops etc.
