"Your trainer card," the woman replied, tapping her fingers against the top of the lectern she stood behind. "After registering for enrollment in this season's league challenge you should have received an official trainer's card. It's necessary for participating in all Unovan League activities, and often even non-League sponsored events, including gym battles. Without one, you're restricted to casual battling."

The expression Cynis had during the following moments of silence could very easily be mistaken for belonging to someone who had just pulled his pants down. Blank astonishment as the mind searched desperately for something it could use, only to come up with empty hands.
"Right! Yes. That...thing. Uh huh. I ah..." he quickly patted down his dingy clothes with a shamefaced grin, "seem to have left them in my other pants..."

"It might behoove you to get those other pants then," the attendant replied with a giggle. It seemed this sort of behavior was common at the first gym, as she didn't seem at all suspicious of Cynis' nervous demeanor.

"Yes. I will be going now and...finding those pants...Excuse me real quick." And with that Cynis was gone back into the foyer and crowd therein.

Alice smirked slightly at Cynis' peril, before turning her attention to the attendant as the woman cleared her throat, "In the mean time, I'll explain how this works to the rest of you. Some of you may be aware of the fact that Striaton's gym is unique: we have three gym leaders instead of only one. Normally, the leader you face depends on the Unovan starter you received from Professor Juniper, but I understand this season has started a little... differently.
"As a result, we'll have to adapt. If one of the gym leaders has a pokemon that is type effective against your first registered Pokemon, you'll battle them. If they don't, you'll battle one of them that is not at a disadvantage to your Pokemon. If neither of those is applicable, they'll simply decide amongst themselves who you'll face.
"Any questions, before I lead you in?" she asked.

The woman nodded, "Certainly! You're free to watch the matches for no charge, and you can even order a meal during it if you so choose! That's one of the main reasons people eat here to begin with," she laughed.

The Lucario placed his hands together and bowed to the trainer and her pokemon. "There you are." Tony said stepping threw the crowd as Lucario rose back up. "I'm sorry if he bothered you two. He just likes to hang out with people with good auras." He said to Alice.

"Is that so?" Alice muttered rhetorically, before losing a shade of her disgruntlement and gave Lucario a small smile. "Nice to meet you," she said quietly.
The attendant clapped her hands together, "Wonderful," she announced. The woman proceeded to take a small stack of restaurant menus from the side of the lectern and gestured neatly for the group of trainers. "If you would all follow me!"
She made her way to the back of the room and opened the door leading further into the gym, stepping through it with quick, purposeful strides.
The silence of the lobby was overtaken by quiet, constant conversation accompanying a background track of classical music. The inside of the gym proper was the perfect image of a fancy restaurant. Glass chandeliers hung from the ceiling, casting the same dim light across the room as in the lobby. The attendant's heels clicked against the decorated floor tiles as she weaved amongst occupied tables lit by candlelight.
Despite the restaurant's formal atmosphere, the dress code seemed to be much less elegant. Trainers of all ages and appearances sat in the chairs, munching away at all kinds of delectable foods.
The middle of the restaurant was taken up a large, rectangular platform, with guidelines breaking it in half. The closest end to the front of the room had a small set of stairs leading up, while the other side was bordered by a curtained wall.
The woman swept her hand towards a set of tables close to the stage as the group approached, "These are for you. I'll tell the boys you've arrived," she smiled.

Having followed the group of his fellow trainers on entering the restaurant, being sure to stay in the rear so as to be lost amongst the other faces, Cynis promptly abandoned the group halfway to the stage, wandering amongst the tables in search of a suitable target.
Smiling maliciously, Cynis wandered forward, then doubled back to particular table, one whose trainer was very much engrossed in their food. "And how are you this evening?" Cynis asked, smiling politely as he leaned near the young woman, his voice dripping subservient politeness and fake congeniality. "The food everything you asked for? Can I get you anything else?"
Cynis was barely spared a glance by the other as she answered, "Food's good. Real good. My compliments to the chef 'nd, you know, whatever."
"Alright. Alright. Supah. Supah. I'll be sure to tell him. You enjoy you meal now and just call if you need anything at all." Patting the other on the back, Cynis turned and departed. As he silently slipped through the dining room and back towards the foyer, he slipped a thin plastic card out from where it had been held between his fingers, smiling all the while.

Lucario nodded at Alice. "C'mon Lucario. Don't want to miss Zach's fight." Tony said entering the room and taking a seat at one of the tables towards the back Lucario following him and sat down next to him.
Zach and Rocky entered the room and looked around in amazement haven't never seen anything this fancy. "Are you ready Rocky?" He asked trying to focus on the upcoming battle as he sat down at one of the tables up front.
"Dril!" Rocky exclaimed sharpening his claws against each other.

The attendant walked off, leaving menus situated in front of each chair. Alice sat down in one, and Chi bounded up to the chair next to her. The Meditite swept her eyes around the room, trying to absorb all the sights and sounds and smells all at once. The redhead eyed the stage with the barest hint of nervousness. Unrealistically she had always thought gym battles were some private occasion, but it only made sense there would be audiences leaping to observe these battles.
She looked down at the menu. Dinner and a show, after all.
With the female server off notifying the gym leaders about the new arrivals, one of her peers had taken her place in the lobby. Unlike her, he seemed drastically less interested in being there. Bored, the man twirled a pen between his fingers and rested his face lazily against his palm.

Things appeared to be looking up for Cynis as he found a new person lounging around the lectern at the front of the lobby. Unless they did not in fact work there and were only lounging, in which case things would be looking down. Of course, it could be the person did work there, but was on their break, or perhaps did not start work for another five minutes, in which case things would be looking right and left respectively. Fortunately, Cynis only looked forward, never back, and so brokered no hesitation approaching the man.
"Hey, I found my trainer card and would like to sign up for a gym battle or something now."

The server lazily looked up at Cynis with an expression that clearly stated he would rather not help the emaciated teenager. However he did need the paycheck that doing the work would provide, to do whatever
extremely
important young adult things he wished to do while mooching free rent from his parents.
"Yeah, whatever, hand it over," he snorted, extending a hand for the card.

The man took it, not even inspecting the card as he swiped it through the computer and inputted seemingly random keystrokes into the machine. It took practically no time at all before he had chucked the trainer card back at Cynis, "You're registered," he said bluntly, before waving a hand back towards the door into the gym. "Stuff's in there."
He then proceeded to go back to being engrossed in spinning his pen.

Robin moved allong the group and then took a seat at the table they where lead to.
She took up the menu as once her battle was over or before the combat she could use a drink, without alcohol.
