Just got
Once
by Nightwish last night, and tbh I like it the most out of all their albums.
Nemo
may well be my new favorite song.

I was quiet as a mouse, when I snuck into your house, and took roofies with your spouse!

Just thought I'd write this here - seeing as she was a musician;
Amy Winehouse has been found dead at her home, age 27.
It was really quite expected, but not so quickly. She was a %^&*ing trainwreck, but a talented artist and it's a shame her life and death in the spotlight was overshadowed by alcohol and drug problems (which, I will speculate, will be linked to the cause of death).

Me and a few mates tonight have realised that 'meh' is appropriate here.
Terrible thing to say I know, but I'm not sure I've ever been so 'underwhelmed', if that's the right word, by someone's death.

I have a deep indifference to that news, as I was never a fan of her....and honestly, surprised it took that long after all the madness she did last year.

I think a lot of what I listen to is called alternate pop. Also, you sound (or, you text looks) shocked or appalled or surprised. Is there something so weird or bad about that song?
Here's another one of her's that I really love.

It's an awesome album indeed :) The song "Wish I had an Angel" has an awesome drive behind it ^^
As far as I can tell the new Dream Theater song with the new drummer Mike Mangini hasn't been posted yet, so I'll do the honours ...
On the Back of Angels
. It's a pretty good song, but I can't shake the feeling MP would have come up with more kick ass beats. MP also had a signature sound with his Melody Master snare etc ...
Also, I don't know if you Porcupine Tree fans are aware of Steven Wilson's side project Blackfield (together with Aviv Geffen). It has some magical songs, like
Blackfield
(derp),
Hello
,
Once
,
Cloudy Now
,
1000 People
,
Pain
(with Aviv on vocals) ...
Edit: I saw some Rush dislike earlier. Really? Even when you hear stuff like
YYZ
?
Edit2: Gonna add my own band while I'm at it :)

Almost everybody I know that likes Rush is an elitist prick about it. They look down on all other music and insult anything I listen to, while assuring me that Rush/Journey are easily the best bands in existence that trump any music I can listen to.
So yes, I very much dislike Rush.

But has anyone here heard of the band
Lyriel?
They're pretty good, in my opinion. Does anyone know any bands like them?
You could try some of these bands.
Cruachan
Eluveitie
Spellblast
I also know of some heavier folk metal than these if you're into that at all. I couldn't really tell based on that one song.
