Bands I listen to often are:
Anthrax
Children of Bodom
Chimaira
Dope
KoЯn
Lamb of God
Machinehead
Metallica
Mushroomhead
Pantera
Parkway Drive
Slayer
Slipknot
Ive always wondered whats peoples take on Techno/Electronic/Trance/House music. I never see any of those artist in the music threads, and this is my fav type of music and takes up 95% of the space on my ipod
The thing is that Techno/House got a bit comercialised and got a bit bad. I was listening to House/Techno/Trance a couple years ago, but I switched to metal and rock. Now that I listen to the new House/Techno/Trance I just want to throw up, dunno, really. And the thing is that around forums like these 90% listen to rock/metal, you could actually say mostly "underground" types of music. That's why comercial music isn't very popular (excluding the Rhinanna fan boys >:| )
Techno and that kind of music I dislike. I listen to metal most of the time and rock too. I do not like rap or jazz or anything like that either. Especially hate Baroque music as well as classical.
The band I listen to most at the moment is Korn, anyone else here listen to them?

She's great as well :D Saw her live some days ago, it was great!
Yes, I heard her at the Isle of Wight festival and her voice is so powerful, it just blows me away.

Who is Rihanna?
:O
One of my favourite songs by her, you probably know her, or at least have heard something of hers.
For example,
Umbrella
.

Just listened to the first one, pretty good. Second one I liked less though.
Not good enough to tear me away from the other bands I listen to though, but still quite good :)

While I did worship Them Crooked Vultures earlier in the thread, they're an anomaly, being a band from after the 60s/70s I like. That's rare. My favorite band is the Jimi Hendrix Experience, with close runner-ups being The Who, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Rush, Kansas, and many others. On the metal side of things, I like Iron Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth, Black Sabbath, Dio, and few others.

This is a bit of a random question, but seeing as this is the General Music Discussions thread... let's see what happens.
Is there a song you've really connected with, like, that is to say - has any song strengthened your resolves, acted as a solace or anything of that nature? Do you have an innate and emotional bond to a song because it has made you act in a certain way?
For me, I have one song that's heads above the rest of them, and it's Christina Aguilera's
Fighter
, because of what I was going through at that point in time, and it for some reason just hit me, and it acted as more support than any person had been at that point. In hindsight, that's rather sad and strange - maybe - but it's hard to describe and I was wondering what other music had really bonded to others, if any music has specifically done so. Hopefully you get the point. :P

When I was way younger, I hid some girl's glasses in the classroom, and everyone suddenly accused me of stealing. Behind Blue Eyes was my solace back then.

One of the reasons All Along the Watchtower (Jimi Hendrix's cover) is my favorite song is because I listened to it constantly during a somewhat difficult time of my life.

Alone I Break
by Korn would be one for me, somehow I could just connect with the song in several ways and relate it to things in my life.
