My name is Gskill.
I have recently boughts a new PC and installed windows 7 64x on it.
At first everything was ok , but i can back to the game and a strange thing happened.
When i first installed it i used ultra high seting and everything was ok , i was playing with a constant 60 FPS , sometimes 70-80 in BGs.
Now when i enter BGs, i have 60 at the beginning but as soon as battle starts my FPS goes crazy from 60 to 120 then down to 10. And i dont know what could be the problem.
I lowered my rezolution but still the same problem. Restarted PC still nothing.
I have a PC with 8 GB ddr3 , video card of 2GB ,and a procesor of 3300.
Don't have anymore idears on what to do , so i would like some sugestions.
Thank you very much.
Here's some suggestions:
Update your video card drivers.
Before you run World of Warcraft, make sure you close
unnecessary programs. If you are using a max background FPS limit, try disabling that. Stuff like Skype, web-browsers and other programs may interfere.. also, if you are running the game in windowed mode, try to use fullscreen instead.
Try turning Vsync and Triple Buffering off aswell, also run WoW as an admin and enable DirectX 11.
If neither of the things above works, I suggest you download and use the 64-bit version of World of Warcraft, which can be found here:
You can also try running programs like
to help with shutting down unnecessary programs and otherwise boosting performance. Make sure you know what services are being shut down, however (configure the service).
Sounds like a cooling issue to me. Leave Vsync on, install the 64-bit client, update your video card drivers from the manufacturer's website, be sure you're using DirectX 11, and then blow the dust out of your case and clean your dust filters. You might also consider an aftermarket cooler for your CPU, video card, and RAM (in that priority order). Be sure your case is moving plenty of air, and if it can support an additional fan or two, install them (120cm fans are pretty cheap).
Worst case scenario? Your power supply is junk and needs replaced. Never skimp on a power supply either. As a rough estimate, you'll need to spend around $80US for a reliable power supply that can run your machine.
