Should, as you get two games for one: FF4 and the After Years sequel.

I'm not surprised by #7 and the amount of votes. That game is primarally popular by the amazing storyline. but being the hipster that I am, I kinda lost my love for the game after crisis core and extensions to the game were set out. The original story was as good as it gets. I couldn't really care for Zack or how Vincent saves the world . I hold onto Aeris' death as the changing moment in my gaming life and never will I find another game with such a plot.
I mostly like Final Fantasy VIII, IX, Tactics, and Tactics Advanced. These games have filled in the lost love for VII, I found these games more enjoyable. VIII's junction system was first confusing, but when you stacked enough spells, you became god-like and could cause immense damage at low level. IX was cartoonish and much tougher considering your abilites were character-restricted. You had to work with each one, no more characters lagging behind you.
Tactics/Tactics advanced had a different gameplay, and a very under-rated story. Tactics was full of twists and turns. But once you got a grasp, you knew that your character was the true hero. Tactics advanced didn't have the story I'd expect. But over-all respectable for the main character held onto reality and knew his true place, not in a fantasy world where you could be killed.
Turn-based games were my specialty in video games back then. I remeber sitting down most of the weekends/summer trying to beat any final fantasy I aquired. having a team with the main roles: Melee, Healer, Caster, Melee. Gearing up every character, preparing for the worst and smashing of my controller. Ohh such good memories.
If they are going to introduce more dissida characters, I would love them to bring in the following:
VIII: Cosmos: Rinoa(playable), Selphie/Quistis as Assist. Chaos: Adel(playable), Seifer(playable), Fuijin & Raijin As assist
IX: Cosmos: Vivi (playable) Eiko as assist
Tactics: Cosmos: Ramza (playable), Agrias (playable), Mustadio, Rafa, Malakk, and Alma as assist Chaos: Delita (playable), Wiegraf (playable), Gafgarion, Algus, Dycedarg as assist.
these characters need to be added, they all have primary roles and they would enhance the story much further!
Final Fantasy is dying at a quicker pace now. The story plots are not very tasteful, the combat is growing to modern day where you run around and cut crap. Final Fantasy is hanging up it's legacy and soon shall go in history as an amazing long-distance game that soon brought it's own down-fall.

I don't find XII a disaster; I like the story, I like that there is no romance plot shoe-horned in(come on, Tidus and Yuna was very cringe worthy at times), the main villain was a complete and utter monster, his Dragon is the only Evil Cid, the summons were just breath taking, the air ships were awesome, and the Viera rocked....as did the other races.
The only thing I found annoying at times was Vaan, but he was no worse then Tidus....actually who am I kidding; Tidus is far worse then Vaan. The battle reel system was simple to get used to, the Board system used to learn skills and abilities was similar to the Sphere Grid, except a little more specialized for each person. And the Hunts: The hunts were my absolute favorite part of the game; I loved going after the Marks, figuring out how to kill them, and finding the incredibly rare game all across the world.
Only 'big' problem was how you got Gil in the game; yes, figuring out which loots you had to sell and which you had to keep was annoying, but it was still fairly 'easy' to rack up the money needed.

Mind you, XIII wasn't a bad game, it was just not the same Final Fantasy that I once knew.
This is the thing. It's evolving, it's not dying. I'm disappointed that the battle system isn't the traditional 'control everybody' setup, but I appreciate the new challenges and flexibility that comes with having the swap-and-change combinations of characters that comes with the Paradigm system.

Someone hacked in an Aerith skin over Tifa in Dissidia 012.

Almost at chapter 12 in FFXIII. Finally at a place where I can grind happily and efficiently.
