Hello-
I am in need of some assistance with my dps as a feral cat druid. I have recently been in heroic cata dungeons and it came to light that my dps is sub par. I took it upon myself to do some research via this forum and EJ to correct a few things.
I have since:
- respecc'd my talents to the 0/35/6
- reglyphed accordingly
-picked up a few enchants
-installed droodfocus, recount
-did some practice on a raid dummy and dps is around 5k ish
-in regular cata dungeon run dps is around 6k ish
My armory:

yes it still needs some tweaking, the head meta is wrong I used that to get the bonus, need to replace with a relentless
I have watched the rotations but am struggling with getting it down as it is now new for me as I realized I was doing it wrong.
My rotation: Feral charge, Tigers fury or beserk, fairie fire, rake or shred to five combo points, ravage if it is still up, rake of shred to five, ferocious bite, try to get a tiger's fury or beserk which ever is on CD in, mangle ect.
How can I improve? It also appears I am in need of breaking 85 levels of bad habits. According to reading in the forums I should be much higher in dps and it appears until I am I am not ready to hit the heroic cata dungeons which makes me a sad panda.
Cheers

I would think the optimal basic rotation would be:
Feral Charge -> Ravage -> Mangle -> Rake -> Claw.
Isn't it important to get Mangle up ASAP, then Rake to get a good bleed on? Claw to build CP.
I see alot of players leave Mangle until later in the rotation, or even just spam it to build CP.
I'm still not exactly clear when to pop TF, Berserk or Savage Roar but getting best bleeds up ASAP is important due to mastery.

Your 'rotation' doesn't really make much sense, ferocious bite should be at just about the bottom of your priority list until the mob is <25% health. And popping tiger's fury before doing anything is a major waste of 80 energy and the +15% damage will be gone before you can get a 5 cp rip up. I do like this for most pulls:
Feral charge, pounce, mangle, rake, ravage! (from stampede) and/or shred to 5 cp, tiger's fury, rip, shred / refresh rake (if it's <8 sec remaining and I have TF buff still, or has fallen off) / mangle (if unable to get behind the mob due to aggro, fire, etc.) / whatever up to a 1-5 cp Savage Roar depending on how long I think the mob will live or if there are other mobs in the pack, or if it's a boss that will live the full duration of SR, shred shred shred up to 5 cp, ferocious bite if rip and SR have a hefty duration remaining. Toss in a fairie fire somewhere near the beginning too. And berserk during shred/ferocious bite spam phases to maximize dps from cheap shred/fb spam. And run out to min-range if possible and feral charge/free Ravage! when FC is off cooldown.
If that mess doesn't make much sense, just follow our priority list:
Mangle Debuff
Rip
Rake
Savage Roar
Shred spam for CP, use OoC procs for shred as much as possible
Ferocious Bite if you have 5 cp, energy is getting full, and neither SR or Rip will fall off before you can get another 5 cp up, or any amount of CP ferocious bite if mob is below 25% and Rip is <4-5 seconds remaining
something like that, and EJ says to use tiger's fury/berserk "on cooldown" but this applies mostly to long boss/raid boss fights. As a heroic all-star personally I'm conservative with my berserk and try to time my TF's only for Rip/Rake applications and for when I can use the full 80 or so energy without going over the 120 cap.
Very basically, keep a 5 cp rip and rake on a mob who has the mangle debuff and you'll do ~7k dps even if you go out of form and /dance at it. At least until they rebalance our damage to direct attacks again.
Also gear/reforge for agility >>> mastery >> crit/haste > everything else, use the ramkahen head arcanum, and there you have it.
Simple cat DPS. :D
(Also NEVER USE CLAW shouldn't even have it on your bar. If you're Feral, Shred is your CP generator or Mangle if you can't get behind the mob. Guy above me is smoking the resto druids.) (Edit: Guy above the guy above me*)

Believe it or not, I mistook Claw for Shred. I knew there was a CP builder which we ignore totally. I logged and checked my bars ><
But yeah, I did want to stress the importance of Mangle.

Thank you for the feedback it is very much appreciated!
I just picked up the Ramhaken head enchant so corrected that issue.
I also installed Hear Kitty and that helped with managing when to dump the combo points.
Sounds like I need to work on the rotation still. So that is tops right now.
And for clarity sake I dont have claw anywhere on my bar :)
Again thank you all!
Cheers
