option 4: rake - tab - repeat, then when all mobs are rake'd proceed to swipe. Use TF and berserk accordingly when off CD
This. But it all depends on how much hp the mobs have, and how easy tab targetting is for you :)
(hitting the tab key on 10 targets is flawed btw, at least for me. You get a mob you already raked earlier after a while.)

true,
I'd say there isn't a universal rule when it comes to a method needed for AOEing as any class. It's best to consider and seek for answers based on the individual case or fight.
I.E. How would I AOE for fight X in phase Y against Z type of adds.
Hello everyone.
What do you use as AoE in feral, while dpsing?
I have 3 options, but i'm not sure wich one is the most efficient.
1st: i'd think that
Tiger's Fury
+
Berserk
+
is good, i'm 348gs so far, and when trinket buffs are up i hit every target for around 10 to 11k.
2nd: turn into a bear and
Berserk
+
. I know i only hit 3 targets, but for at least 15k-17k
3rd:
Berserk
+
+
Rake
+
Rip
(tab) repeat, (tab) repeat. You will be getting rake and 3 or 4 combotpoint rips on every target.
I chose 2nd option when there is up to 4 mobs, and 1st when there's more, but maybe i'm missing something.
I wouldn't use tiger's fury before swiping though. I'd prefer to swipe down to 40 or less energy then hit tiger's fury so I can get more energy to get more swipes out.
I find the 3rd option to be funner, but it's only really optimal when facing 2-4 mobs who will all survive for around a good 20 or more seconds. It's also not 100% necesary to have berserk up when doing this.

Imho the energy you lose by popping TF with a full energy bar is a dps loss compared to the 15% damage boost you get.
The 15% damage boost from TF might even get cancelled by Berserk. At least it used to in wotlk iirc.

It did, and the comment is still there in the Berserk tooltip saying that you can't use TF while Berserk is active, which means that yes, it probably is cancelling the TF buff the moment you activate Berserk.

Ya I've actually tested it out because I thought I saw the TF Buff during Berserk once after Cata released: Berserk definitely cancels the 15% damage from TF (the buff I was seeing was
).

If there's only 3 or 4 targets, I usually tab targets and get a rake up, then swipe spam if they're all still up. Once it's down to 2 or less targets, I just single-target dps them, maybe switching back and forth. For large numbers of targets, Swipe is best. Swipe your energy down to zero, pop Tiger's Fury and continue swiping. If you want to burn Berserk to really get them down, that works too, though it does indeed negate the TF damage buff.
I would not recommend going bear to AoE. You will likely draw aggro and annoy your tank and healer.

Wait, did you just imply that bear AoE would draw aggro from some other tank applying AoE threat? BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Thank you, Yodadoe, I needed that chuckle. (Granted, Berserk Mangle spam MIGHT pull it off, but the general concept is laugh worthy.)
More on topic, if you know you're going to use Berserk, the sooner you use it as a Cat, the better, since 100 energy translates to more 1/2 energy swipes than any value < 100 will.

Haha, this is true. But I was responding to the OP's idea of Bear>Berserk>Manglespam, which... well, would easily pull aggro away from a Bear tank, at least!

He wasn't talking about Swiping.
Berserk + Mangle does
insane
AoE damage and also insane AoE threat. Bears AoE problems would be all solved if we just had Berserk all the time ;) While using Berserk as Bear he will most certainly pull aggro from the tank at least on the two secondary targets, possibly even on the primary one.
Doing that in a dungeon is a very, very bad idea and most probably suicide - and certainly a major annoying for your tank.
When I tank and I see a feral Druid switching to bear form by finger will instantly move towards the group kick button. Don't even think about it, don't go bear (unless you the tank died for some reason and you are trying to save the group or something like that).
As for cat AoE:
The fact that you include Berserk there is pretty ridiculous. It's not even remote available all the time. You just can't depend on it.
I'd go with Rake + tab if there are many mobs and/or they will die reasonably fast and with Mangle + Rake + Rip + tab if there are only 3-4 mobs and they are all going to live reasonably long. After everything is dotted up proceed with Swipe spam. Use TF when low enough on energy and Berserk when available (but only if you are at least 3 minutes away from the next boss, it's not worth wasting it on trash if that would reduce your boss damage).
