End Game--Enh vs. Resto

I'm currently leveling an Enhance shaman and was thinking about changing to resto once I hit 80. I don't have time for raiding currently and occasionally get an instance in here and there.

Having read in the threads that it is absurdly mundane killing things as a resto build, would it be worth changing over to the resto build at 80 or stick with the enhance to complete solo quest easier? As this will be my only 80lvl toon on my current server I won't have an alt backup to play.

Thoughts for those at 80 now? Stick with enhance or go resto?

If you don't plan to raid or do heroics on this toon, it may be easier for you to just stick with enhancement. However, if you plan or desire to at least do heroic 5mans, resto will undoubtedly assure you an easier time picking up groups. DPS is a dime a dozen, healers not so much. Perhaps when, or if, they go through with the dual spec plan, you can do both and just have 2 sets of gear for whichever you wish to do.

Around lvl 77 start collecting an set of Resto gear, get to 80 and try it out. Depending on your server being a healer might not be the golden ticket some people make it out to be. Good DPS can get a group as easily as a healer can from my experiences. It also might not be your thing - the two specs play radically different. Play around and try them both out - you don't have the ambition to go greater than running instances (and there's nothing wrong with that!) so go with what's fun rather than adhering to some greater gameplan.

Eventually there will be the dual spec thing so you can always just keep an extra set of gear in the bank and swap between them and never be shy about picking up offspec gear that would otherwise be greeded in your group.

Yeah I facerolled chainheal through all content in BC and by the time wrath was coming I had picked up a nice enhance offset and decided to switch to enhance, now I am raiding as an enhance shaman and don't seem to ever have problems getting into pug 5mans.

It is what you like most, I found healing really fun for most of BC, but now hate it and love enhance, so I suppose it's good to try out both specs.

Just checking out your shammy, I recommend you gem for more hit and expertise instead of crit, It will be a substantial increase in your dps if can get hit capped.

/agree ^ if your not going to be a avid raider i would stay ele cause you wouldnt be on to get gear really. as ^ said if u wanna heal the gear diff would be min.
