Mark my words: they'll pull something for blood elves at the last moment. Because Asians love elves.
Fixed....what is this, I don't even...
I'd probably care more if I didn't expect them to be "Derp derp we're archaeology because nobody else in the Horde fits the bill."Trolls would work as archaeology. Ancient culture and all that. Keep in mind that if it wasn't for this, the BEs would not have these new bases nor would they be a part of WotLK (except, MAYBE for Quel'delar, but that just showed how much of a pussy Lor'themar really is).Blood elves were running a faction in Wrath (and making a certain Knaak character fume) because they used to be high elves.
At this point, I almost envy the Draenei. At least you don't look like complete chumps. Is it better to have bad new lore or no lore at all?Sitting on their tails and doing nothing
doesn't
make them look like complete chumps?

I think that Blizzard need some more creative writers. It seems that they have the Draenei at a standstill due to several reasons, but one of the bigger ones being that they can't write for them. One could eaisly write the Draenei into several areas besides the Earthen Ring.
For Example:
"We want to know more about our new home so we're investing heavily into Archeology"
"We think that the demon summoning in Desolace is bad, so we're going to send some guys over there"
"We're going to help our close allies the Night Elves in defending Hyjal, cause we're nice like that."
"We're going to help our new friends the Worgen of Gilneas with their curse, and try to get them to see the light again."
"We want to defend our land against the advancing horde, so we're going to fortify our base in Ashenvale"
Here are 5 ideas that they could use.

damn
well crib fan ideas. Everyone knows they already do it.
Better yet, they can hire some of us to write for them if their own writers don't want to bother. (As opposed to dissing us. "Every Voice Matters," my virtual tail.)
Having absolutely no lore at all leads people to believe Blizzard doesn't give a $%^&. Having an infusion of lore that completely ignores the elephant in the room (IE : Garrosh pretty much calling everyone else pussies) is just as bad.Just as bad?
In that case, I think we're actually somewhat in agreement.
As far as Trolls go, the Zandalar trolls would be more interested in archaeology, but the Darkspear... eeh. Plus, they already have their own storyline to worry about.Maybe. I'm fairly sure we'll be digging up trollish artifacts, but there's no word on what trolls (or who will be in charge).
Honestly, I find it's pretty much the same fight. You want lore, and I want something that makes my preferred faction look decent for a change.Indeed. Considering the villain ball with which the Horde keeps getting hit, I'm surprised the tauren (and the newly redeemed Blood Knights) haven't been getting dubious.

I wish a novel written from a Dreanei's perspective would be written. There was one of the Dragon ones ( night of the dragon IIRC) and Rise of the Horde which had Draenei characters, but I'd like to see a novelization of the arrival of the Draenei to Draenor.

Heh, so 200 years in the past eh? From the start of Rise of the Horde.

I hope that Draenei get more lore in cata. Although it does seem like every expansion has an ignored race for each faction.
Unfortunately, the tauren have been that race for the horde since TBC launched. It seems like blizzard has a hard time writing stories about noble races. It got to the point in WotLK that tauren weren't there at wrathgate or the retaking of Undercity.
Sorry if that seems oftopic. I guess the takeaway would be that blizzard needs to fix their long-standing policy of ignoring the inconvenient races story during expansion packs.

Rise of the Horde
started later than that.
A novelization of the Draenei's incorporation into the Alliance would be awesome too. Also, this.

Unfortunately, the tauren have been that race for the horde since TBC launched.Trolls haven't gotten much love until recently, either. Luckily, both are guaranteed at least
something
in Cata.

think
of that whole business, to tell the truth. It seems like they'd be kind of leery of the Forsaken (if they weren't already, which would surprise me).
I guess the takeaway would be that blizzard needs to fix their long-standing policy of ignoring the inconvenient races story during expansion packs.I think that's really the main problem here.

Rise of the Horde started later than that.Heh, well the guy said the Draenei landing on Draenor... alright, crashing, and that would be two hundred years before the start of chapter one. I know the Prologue was about the fall of Argus.
I'd like to know what the tauren think of that whole business, to tell the truth. It seems like they'd be kind of leery of the Forsaken (if they weren't already, which would surprise me).Well, seeing as Magtha Grimtotem was one of those who wanted to get the Forsaken into the Horde.....

Anyways, I think that with the Burning Hand orc clan advancing, that there should be some Draenei at Nigel's Point, heck, maybe a Draenei town in Desolace. But alas, with Forest Song (so far) looking like it's the same, I have lost hope. So much for
denials
that Blizzard is caving to the BC QQ...
And it also looks like both the Draenei and Blood Elf starting zones aren't being updated.Mark my words: they'll pull something for blood elves at the last moment. Because they love elves.
There are several Draenei and Broken quest NPCs on the beta. (as previously mentioned, there are some in the Earthen Ring) Can't see what else people want them to do with them. :SYou're talking about "a few questgivers," when blood elves get multiple bases? As draenei are the
only
race that doesn't get at least one new class (despite having no stealthninjas whatsoever), that alone requires compensation.
In return I want a proper voice actor for Lor'themar. If you REALLY want Cam Clarke to stay, just have him record some other lines just for him.Maybe. Even if you
do
get warrior and at least two bases already...
Ok, guess my choice of words was rather poor there. There are a ton of Broken and draenei in the Earthen Ring, and pretty much the single most important character in Vashj'ir is a Broken. They're by no means left out of this expansion.
Not sure where you get the whole multiple bases part from either since Uldum isn't available for testing yet, but The Reliquary has both forsaken and blood elves in it. It's not exclusively a blood elf faction like some people claim it is.

I heard on MMO that the Blood Elves were advancing in Uldum, so it isn't exactly first hand knowladge.

The Reliquary is the supposed Blood Elf faction, only it's a Forsaken & Blood Elf faction, sort of like Tranquilien.

You really can't expect the Draenei to have a huge position in Azeroth related content at this point of Warcraft Lore.
Although I would love a large position, I realize that it is impossible. Here's to hoping that the Draenei are the spear headers in the Argus expansion (if there is one). I would like an improved presence at the very least. More than 4 quest givers for a start. From what I've seen, the Draenei have a large military presence in Kalimdor. Yet there is still no evidence of new Draenei towns.

Really? I didn't think they had the numbers for a large military force, what with the fiasco in Outland and the army's manipulation in Northrend.
