You might want to stay w/ your two-hander until level 42 or so. Get stormstrike at 40 to give you an instant attack, which will help you level faster. I ran into issues because my +hit was pathetic while dual-wielding until 44 and getting the +hit talents. It's up to you though - I was eager to switch to my uber blue maces at 40 without thinking of the +hit issues.

Mace vs axe vs fist weapon... it doesn't matter. Well, unless you're an orc then you might want to use axes, but otherwise there's absolutely no benefit to using one weapon type over the other.
Apart from looks, of course :)
I'm in love with Fist Weapons, going to get

and

. I just find it so much cooler to rip someone apart with bad-ass claws than hitting them with a mace / axe.

Hey. It's best to have one-handed axe in two hands if you wanna be meele shaman and learn enchanted skills ;)
Oh goodness, not only a horrible necro (please, don't do it!), but also a few fatal flaws:
- You can't have a one-handed axe in two hands.
- It's melee, not meele
- It's enhancement, not enchanted
