Been gaming since 1989 (
D&D before that)
Was heavy into FPS...not so much RPG
Took about 5 years off - was becoming seriously addicted
(I'm much better now)
WoW for 6 months
My 4yo daughter likes to sit on my lap and "help me kill the bad guys" :-)
I'm so proud

Hmm, don't know if I've contributed to this thread before so here goes.
I recently turned 51.
I've been playing since about Nov 2008. In other words, I'm a Wrath Baby :)
Cheers.

I'm forty and I've been playing since the summer before Wrath came out.
Addicted? Yes. Seriously? I don't know. I just know 7000 more critters to go. That's just about 28 more tunnel runs.
edit: it is done.

I'd seen and heard of WoW for many years prior to officially playing it. Started officially a little after the release of Wrath of the Lich King. 16 in a few weeks.

As I read the ages(older adults like myself :) ) it takes me back to when I first starting playing with my nephews 3+ years ago. I assumed everyone but me was pretty much just kids and teens.
Even in the early days of my guild I refused to speak to anyone but family in fear of being thought of as some kind of child predator. I never played a MMO before.
Then I started to read thing like "got to pick up my kids be bbl" ..."my wife and I are going out to dinner"..."my grand kids like ganking me". I never realized that I had just as many adults as kids in my guild playing this game. I eventually loosened up.
But I guess the most unique thing about WoW is that it allowed me to interact with people who I would never had crossed paths with in real life. The young female teenager who played the piano in our vent. The military personnel, who always called me sir and to whom I always gave my raid spots to and anything else I had. It was a honor to have these brave young adults in my guild.
The single moms who were working, raising their kids and still finding the time to clean up guild bank tabs and heal on runs.
The bikers, the professors, the rebels, nerds, lawyers, white collar, blue collar, adults, kids, straight, gay, Americans, foreigners and even a hot female fashion model :)
In truth many of these people are as close to me in friendship as are the people in my real life, because what is the foundation of friendship if not communication and common interest.
So cheers to young and old(young at heart).
