and yet, we totally still have not talked about my orginal post
I created a flame war
And i was in the worst PuG ever
I need sleep...You stated a fact. Would you like us to talk about that fact? Maybe we could look up the numbers of animal shelters... we could talk about what cities they are in... statistics and whatnot... how boring. We are talking about
why
. We are looking
deeper
. Like all good threads... interesting threads... it has gone beyond the OP and all participaters. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts. If we had stayed on the exact topic you started, we would have been done in 1 page.
People who demand structure in randomness are just as bad as those who deny any kind of structure to thier randomness.

There are more animals than humans.
There you go.

Some philosphers... I believe Kirshnamurti was one... believe that humans don't have emotion. We are hollow empty shells that sense things that lead the shell to make chemical interactions decieving the shell into believing in things like 'emotions', 'soul', and 'thought'. Philosophy argues that these things never really existed. We are the bare elements that compose us. Personally I think that is a crock of poo... but who am I?
It makes sense. This "crock of poo" mentality is just one reason why Laihendi doesn't want you teaching childrens :(

I didn't state it as fact, I made sure that it was clear to be my 'personal' opinion. That doesn't mean it is right or wrong. Besides, I can think of more reasons you wouldn't want me teaching your kids. I'd teach uncertified things, like... manners, values, morals, respect... etc etc. Those conservative things that turn all christians into people who make sterotypes.

Wouldn't you be teaching them that even if they weren't home schooled?

If animals have feelings, then that must mean they can be happy, correct?
So then, what is happiness?

You know, Laihendi. After all the flopping around, and praddleing on and on about the greatness of the public education system, at the end of the day, you don't have kids, or know what it is like for actual homeschooled kids.
I have already adequeately defended myself from this baseless arguement, but let me reinterate my main points, for your benefit. Please, if you want to argue, address these:
1) I work with the public schools to ensure she recieves the same material as the other students. When I say 'materials', I mean this all inclusive: Teachers, Labs, Texts, materials, etc. There is no aspect of public school that she is denied. No class she cannot attend. My work with her is also reviewed by the school district to ensure compliance and quality. She also takes the same tests that the other students do.
2) While not a certified teacher, I have had courses in teaching, extensive, and was able to legally train people in many different fields when I was in Alaska, including electronics, mathmatics, mechanics, heath and wellness, government structures, psychological issues, and others.
3) I know my own shortcomings. You can look at point two and say 'what about english' or whatever you choose to bring up, but I realize that I have many shortcomings, and am willing to work with professionals, or even hire professional tutors where I fail.
4) I want the very best for my kids. You cannot deny that the public school system has its faults. I try to work with the public schools, to gain from them, and then
build
on that to get her even more.
5) Understanding the 'social' deficit involved in homeschool, we work overtime to get her enrolled in sporting activities, intellectual clubs, and private events where she can interact on many different levels.
Laihendi, you have to admit that although it can, and often is, done wrong, it can also be done right.

I stand by my previous post and raise it by this:
I don't care about either the Human race or animals.
Animals can take care of themselves and Humanity is destroying everything.
