Are measures being taken to check if the previous winners cheated to award the cards to people who didn't? How did they cheat exactly? To be honest I was surprised when I didn't win since I was working with a team of lore/exploration nerds from my guild :P

First : Demanding is never good, be thankful that we had a contest and be sad that people exploited it.
Cant Wowhead just ban the unfair people? I mean you must know at least a few of them if you know they are cheating
Yes and no.
To permanently ban someone from a site, you'd need to get the authorities involved and beyond that there is no guarantee (and even then none).. You can ban the user name, and the email, but what prevents someone from creating a new email account simply to join. Why not ban the IP you ask?.. Well anyone that can figure out how to cheat on a contest is going to be able to find a way around an IP ban. A range IP ban and you ban the offender for the moment, but you then will ban everyone that is within the ip range. So then the only clear way to 'ban' someone from a site, would be to make the site either paid, and only paid users get to see content. Or filter it so only people who sign up are allowed to view pages, and then assign someone to go through every membership in detail, which would be a far to tedious process. (Course there are other ways but I am not going to argue semantics).

Hydralisk they got keys because they cheated the system, I would assume all 10 winners for the first 2 days won by referencing the screenshots and finding the links to them and not actaully knowing the pages they are from.
Its basically saying that the winners were cheaters and only cheaters would win this contest and thats not fair to people trying to do it the right way.
winarz r cheatz or winarz are smartz ?
i guess if u think about it there were actually no limitations put on HOW u find the pages...
