I was thinking it would be nice to be able to compare items, something like how BestBuy.com or CompUSA.com compares retail items.
I also suggest that items are flagged as unattainable, not to show up searches, unless a boolean flag is enabled. This would reduce a search overhead since less items would be displayed.

Is this really needed? As far as the technical side of things goes, it will require a decent amount of work. In my opinion, I don't think this should be done as you can easily just open the items in two different tabs/windows.
I would use it, so is it needed it, no. Is it desired, and does it give this site a nice feature, you bet it does. Is the typical response to a suggestion I should expect? I don't exactly feel appreciate as a user, must not be important because d3v1lish wouldn't use it.

You do understand your talking to a Computer Scientist right? If I had the ability to do the feature myself I would, of course I am not a PHP/ASP programmer. Can't tell what the site is programmed in, although I am leaning towards ASP.
I also made a mistake in my original suggestion. My major complaint is that searches result in items that are no longer attainable. My suggestion is within a search query is to only show those items if the user wants to view those unattainable items.
To be honest I am not sure what was going in my head when I posted my original post, oh right I had just left a final.
Malgayne, good to hear that somebody thought of this idea.
I am sort of sour that my suggestion was just throw into the garbage without any real conversation why it was a bad idea.

Not to sound demeaning, but when two site administrators agree with you on an idea, one typically shouldn't be concerned if one user disagrees. Like they said previously - we want the feature, it's in the works, and you'll get it when it's done. *soothes*

I thought the first site administrator was agreeing with the user, who didn't think it was a good idea, my point is still valid that the user wasn't very nice.
I might agree it was my fault, because I didn't type some key words but still.
