Why is this still going?
Also, xar, you need to use your old icon! The one with the guy giving a creepy stare.
What, you don't like the powerham?
I think I still have that icon uploaded, lemme look and I'll change it back, just for you. :)
Hrm, I changed it but it hasn't popped up yet. Can anyone else see it?Nope. You just gotta give it some time. Wowhead's having caching problems, I hear.

It also helps to quickly identify posters. I get confused for a split second when people change their icon because I just see it out of the corner of my eye. ;)

A good trick, but I guess over-use can lead to warnings >.>
I never understood why we don't have the option to turn the filter off. I'd much rather see the censored words. Even WoW has that option.

Agreed. We should put something on the Wowhead feedback thread.

Is there anyone out there who can trace the existence of Jesus Christ? I tried doing it and found that Jesus was born on 2 dates? I'm a little lost here.

The words are scrambled when you hit the "submit" button. It's not an option from the technical point as it stands now.
It might be possible to censor words using javascript which would then allow people the option, which would seem the more practical way to do it. *shrug*

There's the cache problems, but it's showing up now =D
Also, sorry about the filter bypass thing. I'll stop.

Is this thread seriously still going?
Ok I have one question to all the people arguing against religion, especialy the OP:
Why do you care?
Let people beleive what they want, we all obviously have different beleifs and ideals.
And as for the people saying that there has been a history of rape, genocide, murder, intolerance, blah blah blah in the name of religion. Thats true, but there has also been a history of rape, genocide, murder, intolerance, ect, in the name of damn near everything els I can think of so thats really not a relivant point at all...

Personally? I'm interested. I find it interesting that pieces of paper written thousands of years ago still manages to hold people in a world of hard facts and modern progression. I find it interesting that these written texts still manage to &*!@ up things like equal rights, the government, and other parts of the world
where it just plain should not be.
For instance, look at President Obama. His biggest issue? People thought he was Muslim. That was why he was attacked, and involved the discussion of uncountable political debates during the elections. Now imagine if he was Atheist. The backlash would be the same, if not worse. It would be the subject of every argument during his running period, and would be his biggest issue in the voting booths. I find that to be wrong. I can't stand that society finds religion so fascinating when the last "magic" was completely eradicated over 500 years ago.
And so I'm just curious, especially when arguments aren't formed but religious people still stand by their beliefs. I find that to be interesting.
And as for the people saying that there has been a history of rape, genocide, murder, intolerance, blah blah blah in the name of religion. Thats true, but there has also been a history of rape, genocide, murder, intolerance, ect,
in the name of damn near everything els I can think of so thats really not a relivant point at all..
.
... please, enlighten me. Religion is pretty much it. Political battles don't even come close.

Ok lets see,
Murder? Peopel kill each other every day for everything from rage to a few dollars you might have in your wallet. There are spouces who smash each others faces in, mothers who kill their children, drive by shootings happen every day. If you wanna get into the less common you also have psychos who kill people just because its something they like to do. Albert Fish? Ted Bundy? Jeffery Dohmer? or on a larger scale, Joseph Stahlim? Bennito Mussalini?
Gennocide? This is an easy one, look at WW2 Germany, probobly one of the most famous and worst examples of mass genocide in human history. Something like 6 million jews and 2 million gypsies, christians, gays, disabled, ect were put to death in consentraton camps, and thats not even counting war casualties. You want something a little more recent look at whats going on in Africa right now, people being raped, killed, tortured, mutilated, cut into little peices. This isnt some *!@# that happened 60 years ago either, this is happening today, right now, as we speak.
Intolerance? This is the flag that atheists just love to wave about religion. Every monotheistc religion is by its very nature intollerant of other religions because they contradict each other, nothing you can do about that. As far as culteral intollerance, that gos on everywhere, every day, religion involved or not, human beings are by our very nature intolerant beings. Im not going to list examples because there are just too many, it happens eveall the time.

Like I said above, any war you can name that was based off of religion, or more specificly in the case of this thread Christianity, I can name ten that were based on race, land, politics, or just pure hatred.
EDIT: Ex, Chaos, Skree, and most everyone els on the anti religious side of this debate. As I said earlier I respect your beleifs and (for the most part) the way you present them, dispite the fact that we may disagree here, and I can only hope that you respect mine.
As to the OP on the other hand, im sorry but I do not respect you here. Not only is the title of your post offensive, but you cited that website that even the most hardcore athiests here have told you is mostly a load of crap. I would be willing to let that slide but your posts since seem to be full of false info and a lot of smoke screens. Lol Obamas biggest problem was hes a Muslim? really? And that has what to do with Christianity?

The
Muslim conquests
, the
Crusades
, the
French Wars of Religion
, and the
Reconquista
, the
Thirty Years War
, and the
Inquisition
.
Oh, and the Irish Troubles.
I think that means you can name nearly two hundred other wars.

No one said every war was because of religion. Yes there have been many, many wars started over other things, but our point is that there would be one less reason for needless killing. A BIG reason.
Here is one very recent example of a war started because of religion:
Imagine a world without religion...
How many innocent men where needlessly killed that day? How many good Americans and their allies have died in the war since?
Is it worth their lives?

I fully respect you and your beliefs. I just respectfully disagree with them as well ;)
I actually respect you even more than most for standing up for what you believe in too.

With or without religion, humanity would still be killing itself. The Towers would have fallen for another reason is all.

Lol. I've stated several times that the website is not my views. Not at all. Please, learn to read. And how is the title offensive? It's a topic that continually comes up. It isn't offensive in anyway. It's a metaphor.
I was clearly talking about religion in general when I provided my example. I'll ask you again, please actually read what I write.
And what false info and smokescreens? Now you're just attacking me for seemingly no reason.
