i agree with HSR that the online stuff makes it much more strategy, but its hard to not miss that feeling of knowing you had a really rare, powerful card. its like it made it feel more real, if that makes sense. there was mystery and hope every time you opened a booster pack! and even if it was someone else who beat you down with that amazing combo you never thought of, there was still a lot of wonder to it :)
online stuff just kills that sense of adventure that i used to really like int TCGs :/
You know, I think WotC saw that, so they made part of their online magic, be about buying and opening boosters. There is a bracket of play that is online that is only where people buy virtual cards. I just couldn't find myself buying the real cards anymore, let alone the online only ones =/
Still wish I had more old school players around with old school decks. Some of these new cards out class the old ones....but then again, I have counter spells for
double blue
where as new school got nerfed for
colorless and 2 blue!
muaaahhahahahah!

Hat

i couldnt imagine paying for online cards
There is something to be said about the texture and physicality of cards. You know what really blew my mind tho.
The smell.
When my friend was at the store buying those new eldrazi boosters, he let me open one. The second that pack opened, the smell of fresh cards flooded into my mind, bringing with it memories and feelings long since forgoton. If they could bottle that smell, I would buy it. Makes me want get a pack right now!

Hat

You started it. I just said I like blue more.
Using "the best possible scenario"? No, I believe that was you. I just bragged about my deck being the best (which is the second commandment of MTG), and then you pulled a combo out, so what was I supposed to do but to counter it with a combo of my own?
/surrender
Anyways, I'm looking for a good card to get me mana. Currently, I am having mana trouble in my blue/black deck, and just shoving more mana in there won't help.
Any thoughts? Perhaps a creature that gives blue mana?

High Tide is the big Blue "mana getter." Combo that with Snap, Turnabout, Cloud of Faeries, or any other card that untaps land, and you can rack up a @#$%load of mana.
Oh, and Drain Power is great too if the other player is stacked with islands (in which case High Tide might not be a good an option -- but the two together can be pretty nasty).
A third option is Apprentice Wizard if you find you could use more colorless mana.

That would be good.

I'll need some High Tides then. I could probably get them from the card shop soon. Ty.
Also, Snap? I couldn't find a card on Gatherer called that.

Boobs. I like boobs. They're fun to play with. What're your thoughts? Discuss.
That's a very sexist, non-politically correct thing to say. We have female Paladins on the board as well, you know!

That's a pretty sexist and conformist outlook, Squish. Plenty of women like to play with boobs, too! Be it their own or someone else's.
On another topic, Rift has been calling to me lately. The first one of you that hits 50 and starts doing end game content has to tell me whether it's any good or not. My WoW sub ends in may and I have to decide by then whether I should make the switch. I hear end game pvp is disappointing, but the only thing I've seen about pve is that one 18 minute video from alpha.
Edit: I just had a pokemon gain seventeen levels from one fight.

Did you kill a level 100 or something?

17 levels is pretty good!
@ both of you - That lesbian paladins may enjoy talking about boobs doesn't make it any less sexist. You'd need to open the conversation up to talk about all fun bits, both male and female ones. Otherwise the straight females and the gay guys won't feel welcome.
As I see it, that covers a very large portion of the population... but that might just be me....
By definition, that covers barely half the population, if that (assuming that the number of Bi girls outnumbers the population gap between guys and girls, and assuming that the number of gay guys is equal to the number of gay girls). Most straight girls will just slap you.

Tell that to Michaelangelo. Besides, you said that they're fun to play with, not that they look good.

People who like snowy weather still feel comfortable in a conversation about climate which is kicked off by a comment about the unusually pleasant weather that has recently been happening. Just because we started talking about boobs doesn't mean we can't move on.
@17 levels: level one switched out, holding a lucky egg, on a level 49.
