I've spoken to Ashelia about it (side-tracked from something somewhat related) and she showed me a copy of something HSR emailed her (not sure if it was before/after being banned). If it's true and legit (and I don't have any reason to believe it's not, in this case), then he well and truly deserved his ban.

Weird, I dunno.
I can create a char on a US realm if you want :P I think I've got a BElf pally on Dalaran called Squishalot. He's still in the starting area though, so no mailboxes :P
Edit: Just FYI - the email that I've given you and Hat are Wowhead specific, but unlinked to my Wowhead account. It's just a side account I set up for public posting like this.

Mods never really had a reason to not tell the truth. In the end, its just the way we originally felt. *le sigh* such a waste.

Wow, I just read that four page thread that got locked. Have to say I agreed with Hyper. Stuff has a tendency to slide until some weak and ineffectual suggestion is made by a mod, which is of course ignored, because we all know what'll happen is that it'll get locked with a './CRY NO ONE LISTEND TO MEEE.' and no other repercussions. This principally happens because A) the rules are not microinforced (i.e., post-to-post basis, as HSR wanted) and B) it's hard to know exactly how moddy the mods are being (a problem that would be solved with toggled green/blue text).
Also, So maybe he won't mind, but it won't prove your point if he isn't affecting the rules anymore.
Doesn't that make it sound like the value of a point is determined by who's the boss? Personally I think HSR made good use of scare quotes.

I agree with Hyper partially in principle, but at the same time, Wowhead is run by the admins/mods, and at the end of the day, that's that. We don't have to play here, we can easily set up a forum somewhere else to chat if we wanted (see Thottbot Legends, as an example of a community created in the dust of Wowhead).
So while we're here, we just play by their rules, under their roofs. I don't think that there needed to be the crusade that Hyper created, seemingly for the sake of it. I think he was being unnecessarily antagonistic, and I pointed out as much in that thread.
