Nope, agility mail in our Enha shaman/hunterless raid, as always. At least we brought in a guild friend who had an offspec though. What a fitting end to our raid it almost was, sharding something off our first nef kill.

One of my past guilds had this rule where no one could shard anything from a first kill... which led to very disappointed DKP bids most of the times. We never were super lucky with drops, especially trinkets, until the tail-end of expansions. I remember not seeing a single Rejuvenating gem for almost 9 months of BWL. It was only farming it on alts did we see one a week =((##RESPBREAK##)2##DELIM##Ashelia##DELIM##

DBW for my last raiding guide last exp. Think it dropped like 5 times the whole time ICC was out. Ugh and I could never get my upper teir Ret hands to drop or could get a token for them.
And Pezz I know the feeling. we got server first RS and want drops Hunter gear and the Holy Pally boots with no holy pally present.

Wow, he's been gone for a while. Did he say anything in the RB before he left?

Nope. Which is why I'm wondering.

I have maintained awhile that there was something "broken" about the way Blizzard itemized dungeons and the Justice/Valor Vendors which leads to junk like this happening. What Blizzard has done with Cata is simplified the loot for themselves but left the players in in a mess where the grinding is easily twice as worse as it was in Wrath. It isn't uncommon to see players spend a lot of Valor or a lot of gold for marginal upgrades. I have done this myself going for an "upgrade" that cost a lot for a net gain of 20 Int (and at a net loss of Haste, bleh) where I only did this out of a giant pile of Valor and little other options for upgrades.
If I had one magic wish where I could ask Blizzard to do one thing, I would make them change the instance engine to be aware of players that come in. The instance server knows what class-specs are in the instance when the boss dies. Make the boss at death favor giving out loot for the class-specs that were present.

Which would in turn skyrocket the prices of Maelstorm Crystals.
If every piece of loot is needed for a boss you'd either end up not using the best enchants until you have content on farm. Or you'd have to disenchant loot which is needed by players in order to enchant gear.
It's annoying but it serves a purpose having those unwanted drops.
Also seeing the way blizzard itemizes tier sets I'm pretty sure we wouldn't notice if they were to use a system that favors loot based on class and talents.

Or, what would happen is that they'd retool the off-set intellect plate in an attempt to make it specifically good for paladins, which of course would result in it all being terrible for paladins, because Blizzard has consistently proven for several tiers that they don't know what stats we want, and then we'd be left with no gear at all.

Are you insinuating that blizzard is like that neighbor you have, that offers to help you move, but you know he is just going to drop one of boxes and break something.
Are you insinuating that blizzard is like that neighbor you have, that offers to carry your 15 year old, 3 foot tall kenwood speakers up the stairs, but you know that he is just going to run them right into a banisters and bunch out one of the drivers >_<
Are you insinuating that blizzard name is Garry, and if he offered to help redesign paladin healing loot you would tell him AHHHHHHH NOOOO!
>_<

There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again.

and in other news, I finished book 4 of The Wheel Of Time and have moved onto book 5. Have to say I thought 4 was the best yet, hoping it doesn't dip too much as I carry on.
Anybody else reading on a kindle? Thought I would hate it, but got one as a birthday present from the wife and it's awesome.
Did my first ever healing role last night, heroic vortex and man I sucked so bad, going to have to do a lot of reading on that methinks.

The problem with blizzard designing paladin healing gear is that they design it after what they want us to use.
They want us to use mastery as a main stat. But they didn't succeed in making it comparable to haste nor crit for healing, thus we don't want it.
Giving our mastery stacking potential will however make it comparable, but my guess is that blizz thinks that's too OP.

I'm pretty sure they read them, I don't think they know what to make of it though.
Increasing the duration and strength of the bubble changes nothing, the problem isn't that it's too weak or the duration is too short. The problem is that it gets wasted.
Making it stack would solve every issue with it and make it worthwhile. However this would cause balance issues, it would make paladins too OP in PvP, which this game is balanced around unfortunately.
But to not make it OP they could make a roof on the amount it would stack.
Say 20-30% of the casters HP or so.
Either that, or they make it work with all our heals. Don't think that would fix it but it would surely improve it's use to a great degree.

I've always heard it as:
"Fool me once, shame on you - fool me twice, shame on me" - implying that if you fool me the first time, then you're bad for being mean and fooling me... but if you fool me the second time, then I'm bad, because I should've known better :P

Mmm, I missed the humour in it, to be entirely honest.
