These were the BEST haiku? o.O Sorry, but outside of being 5 / 7 / 5, most of them aren't very good and don't follow other structure for haiku (surprise ending, descriptive to a season and imagery)

Although I'm happy I got into the poll, I do agree with the general view from most others; That the Haiku's should be more Cataclysm/Lore oriented, rather than being based around age old jokes.
That said
however
, with the example of;
"Thrall and Jaina's love / Greater than the stars, but still / Less than Saurfang's Cleave"
Given as an example by Wowhead, I think they are telling us to create witty, creative Haiku's, rather than serious ones :)

Thing is, how you feel haiku poetry should be and how the judges feel is two completely different things.
I'm sure they tried to be as objective in the selection as possible or maybe they just chose at random, either way, fair is fair.
Even if i don't agree, i still respect the decisions made.

No, this haiku is something written in 5/7/5 that, is preferably amusing, and that relates to Warcraft.
As i said it was on of the meanings.. "What, are we supposed to express feelings or impressions through <Race> perspective?" Thats a possibility , haikus dont have to be incredibly on key with the actual meanings. but some of the few selected "Best" of day 1... seriously didnt have alot of time/though put into them :l

At least the first one, by Martacus, centers around an emotion, even if it is a meme.
There are a few more, but i'm sure you can find them by yourself.

Aw, I thought I put a bit of effort into mine. I'm a bit upset to see things like "1 1 1 1 2 / 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 / That was a burn phase" up there. I feel insulted. :C

Yah i looked at them all and there are the few that have.. "Basics?" of a haiku.. even with the memes they still flowed well(if that makes any sense).
like i said before i was throwing out my opinion Dx

To be fair, I am surprised any of the ones I entered appeared in a poll at all, much less that one. I entered that one as an obligatory mage joke (I play a mage and I love taking shots at the class any chance I get).
