I'm from Iran and i've been playing WoW on us.battle.net for over a year now and from yesterday after the weekly maintenance i can't access us.battle.net nor Blizzard.com without a proxy (using firefox and it says the connection was reset) and can't open my launcher at all cause it fails to get patching information don't know for sure if battle.net is blocking IPs from my country.(Eu.battle.net works fine though and i have access to it without a proxy). i don't know if writing a ticket with a proxy will get my account locked and i can't think of anything else can anyone help me please?

What time did you do this? The site and website were down for extended maintenance for awhile last night.
If that is not the problem perhaps your ISP isn't allowing connections to us.battle.net, or perhaps Blizzard is indeed blocking communications from Iran...
Other than that I have no guesses. That is something I'd suggest sending a ticket in about (or calling, if you have that ability).

I just read an article that says Blizzard has never allowed those in Iran to play their games, among other countries.
Here is a recent news
article
regarding the blackout in Iran from Blizzard games.
It doesn't really say if Iran is blocking the servers or Blizzard. It could honestly be either of them, or perhaps both.(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##sas148##DELIM##

The artcile you posted is something that the guy who posted it in mmo champ denied it in a thread in eu.battle.net. its pretty obvious that its not our government that blocking IPs so its either on Blizz's end or some technical problem... and judging by not even a single GM commenting on the issue in eu.battle.net then its more likely the Blizz doing.

Well, it would make sense that Blizzard is blocking it... since their Terms of Service and Use Agreement's specifically say that those in Iran, and several other countries, are not suppose to be using their product (likely because of the nation's view on the subject).

When i created my battle.net account around 2 years ago i saw that thing in ToS...
so its Blizzard's fault that lets ppl from Iran to create account in the first place instead of telling them that we can't offer you our services... like when we try to download something from NVIDIA website directly it clearly states that becuase of sanctions we can't offer our services to customers from your country. we don't want Blizz to unban/unblock us we just want a simple official answer from them that if they truly are the ones that blocking us....thats all.

Not only that, but the software almost certainly contains some form of encryption technology, which is illegal to (intentionally) export to countries that the US has deemed Evil (tm).

here is Blizzard Blue Post:

they just answered after 97 pages posts!
there are some thinkable things about this Act that we need Blizzard to answer them:
1- Annual Pass !
2- Game Time Codes
3- MoP New CD (Stupid thing is blizzard did that after alooooots of Iranian players bought MoP CD key.)
So they just BAN Iran IP without any warning? whats up with all of the $ they received from Iranian players?
