Weapon Trainers in different cities train different weapons, so you may have gone to Darnassus or Thunder Bluff, and notice they don't do the axes.
You want Orgrimmar/Ironforge to learn axes.

what faction are you?
for alliance you can learn axes in ironforge
horde can learn axes in orgrimmar
when you speak to a weapon master they have the option "what can other weapon masters teach me?"

Sigh. Not wanting to be mean or anything, but what's the POINT in Wowhead if people like you so blindly don't use it. All I did was typed 'Axe' into search, went to skills and it came up straight away.

. It tells you everything you need to know about where to train it, and who can use it.
Why do we bother....

No, your right, it's ok to ask a simple question. But when you first open Wowhead, there's a gigantic big search bar plonked right in the middle, and using your initiative can save people time and bother. It's not that hard to figure out just to type 'Axe'.
And the fact that it was in the wrong forum.
It's not obvious form the minimalistic Wowhead homepage how powerful this site really is. So, instead of mocking poor little newbies, trying to mentor them a bit first might be in order.
Everyone has a very first question. Do you really want them going away after they ask it thinking "Huh, the Wowhead forums are full of mean people!" or "Gosh, those Wowheaders were so nice and patient, and taught me so much about using the site!"
If you want to be mean to newbies just 'cos you can,

is that way -->
edited to add:
"Not wanting to be mean or anything..." is usually short for "I am about to say something mean even though it's not warranted".

It's quite obvious that even if we did do a sticky on "How to use Wowhead", people would still ask. It's a fact that LOTS of people ignore those, eventhough the exact question they asked is answered almost by looking at the topic name.

On Wowhead, it typically takes less time to answer a question than it does to ridicule someone for asking one.
