Max peered from the dark pits that surrounded his eyes at the strange elf. He scowled, the expression hidden in the shadows of his face. Very faintly, the amulet around his neck seemed to glow, the blue stone winking like an eye in the dark. Max's hand immediately covered it, and he glared at the elf.
"Fine," he said. He suddenly jerked the tiller, the sails catching the wind and billowing out, pulling them away and towards the open water. "But this isn't a free ride, and if we're stuck with you, you're going to lend a hand, claw or talon. Whatever you got. Oh, and I'm not paying you. If you in any way disagree with these terms, you can jump in a lake. This one. Jump in this lake, and swim back to the barge."

"You think he's going to stay here?" Clank asked as the two wandered around the orchard. "I don't know. He seemed adamant about being a good father for this kid and he seems to really care about this Sherry woman so it's possible." Clink replied. "They should go back north. It's so much better there and it would be easier for Richard to work up there." Clank said looking up at the trees. "That may be but they have a life here." Clink replied. "I doubt they'd want to leave this place."

"Ask it," Max replied irritably, steering the boat. "You may as well, seeing as it never shuts up anyway."

Victor was soon finished his stew. He eased back contentedly in his chair, smiling to himself in satisfaction. For a moment he watched the younger mage eat his own, but quickly grew bored of this and rose.
"Well now," he said, voice heavy and sated with the meal. "I think I'll go look into our future travel arrangements."

Richard waited until sure the machines were truly gone. Only then did he dare rise. He approached the abandoned bag warily, looking back uncertainly in fear the robots might return. Arriving at the bag without incident, he nudged it back open with a dirty foot as if testing the temperature of water, and peered inside once more.

Richard glanced around once more for someone to either stop him or encourage him. Hesitantly, for though his curiosity could not be denied his survival instinct remained strong, he stepped into the bag.

Bip's eyes grew wide, the Kobold captivated by the sight and suddenly rushing over towards the spectral figure, sitting down patiently as she spoke.

"Yeah I know I'll just be a minute." A female voice called from behind a door that was situated at the opposite end of the portal. The door opened revealing a gnome, she had bright pink hair that was pulled into two pigtails and green eyes and she wore an exquisite robe colored in yellows and blues with matching heels. "I'll just throw it in here." She called finally turning her attention to the room and started to toss a small metal bird into the room till she stopped at the sight of the small boy. "Huh? How did you get in here?" She asked dropping the bird.

The gnome looked at the portal then back at the kid and her eye's narrowed. "How did you find Richards bag?" She asked her hands moving into her sleeves.
